Pat White has been very unimpressive in camp and in preseason, he reminds me of a cleo lemon, only shorter and obviously quicker... 5th-6th round performance so far, if that...

Out of the players available, I probably would of gone with:

guard Andy Levitre

or wide receiver Mohamed Massaquoi

would you have gone with anyone different than White?

Pat White was a Parcells pick.
And as far as I'm concerned....
I trust Bill Parcells. He knows
more than me.

if White performed at 5th-6th round level so far, Levitre has been at UDFA level.

I'm ok with White so far. That being said, if not White then probably Max Unger, maybe Clint Sintim. Sean Smith was on the board, too.

i thought Andy Levitre was having a solid camp an assured to get plenty of snaps this season?

look i like the concept of Pat White too, but hes just so small out there... obviously what they have in store for him hasnt been shown... So i guess we need to wait for the regular season to see the drafting genius come into play.

he struggled a lot during the games. granted, he's been better lately, but still, not starter material either. the Bills are playing him by default.

that said, i'd have liked Sintim at #44.

There was lots of talk (on this board) about Sintim, Barwin and Unger up to the draft - I suppose any of them if not White for the 1st 2nd.

Couldn't be happier with Smith for the 2nd 2nd.

I'm still happy with the pick but if I had to go elsewhere maybe

DT FiFi Moala or Sen'Derrick Marks If either can play the nose or your pick of WR Mohamed Massaquoi would have been a good pick up then we could have grabbed White later if he was still there.

I don't really question the "Trifecta" much on draft issues they know a hell of a lot more then I'll ever know about football. As far as I'm concerned they have only made two mistakes since taking over, Willford and Green and both were reasonable pick ups at the time maybe the money was just a little much for both.

Sorry I didn't mean to jump topic

I think in the end White will be a productive "player' if not QB for us. The things he will excel at we haven't seen yet and won't until Sundays. I like that they are teaching him the traditional QB role because he needs to know that stuff in case he's ever called on, but not many have the luxury of a there 3rd string QB producing while also being there if needed most hold a clip board and take up a roster spot. 2 players for the price of 1 if you ask me.

Knowing what we know now, I'm kinda miffed that we passed on Smith at 44 for White - that was a huge gamble and there's no way they planned it that way. In fact, I'm pretty sure they sort of "lucked into" Smith in that he happened to last to 56. He's going to turn out to be the steal of this draft.

That being said, we got both, so I'm pretty happy. But I'll wait to see how White is used over the next few seasons before I make any judgments.

I really wanted us to make a move for Rey Mauluga when he started dropping. I dont know why, I just love that guy, I think he is going to be 1 heck of NFL player.

well i called that pick when it was our turn to pick so i will leave it at that

At the moment of pick #44 I was pulling for us to select Sean Smith.

We got him later at #61 by the good grace of god. So to get White was a bonus in my mind. We wouldn't have had the selection if not for the JT trade anyways.

Bonus.

I have liked what I saw in White's limited pre-season action. He is a very raw player and needs some work but he has looked pretty good to me for a rookie QB.

Andy Levitre looked pretty weak and pathetic in his first game and probably wouldn't even make this team.

Massaquoi would just be another log in the log jam at WR.

We could use another promising NT but there wasn't anyone that fit the bill when we picked up white. If Brace was there then I think he would have been the pick.
