Now I'm talking about only base on THIS year. What they have done in the past doesn't count. Fom 1 to 5, how would you rank our best 5 players this year? My list will surprise some people I'm sure but the worst thing was coming up with 5 players who really deserve to be consier top 5....lol

1-Grimes- This guy has been consisten all year making plays and most of the time match against the thr teams best WR

2-Hartline-I know he's not spectacular but he's been steady all season and you can always count on him to make the catch.

3-Fields- Yes, he's been one of our best players all year. He's way more important than people realize.

4-Tannehill- He drives me crazy sometimes missing open guys down the field but he's still having a nice season.

5-Vernon- I admit that I didn't think he'd be much of a pass rusher but he's doing it and playing the run decent the last few games.

Guys I didn't pick and why.

Wake- He is for sure a top 5 player on our team but just not this year. Missed some games and played hurt in others. It happens but you can't make plays on the sidelines.

Soliai- Good player too but our run defense has not been as good this year.I don't think this has been his best season but I still hope we bring him back.

Wallace- Starting to play better lately but not there yet imo

Pouncy- Missed some games so he's out of the list

Starks-up and down this season. I expected much more on a contract year.

I'm sure some of you won't have any of my top 5 on your list and that's ok but I just want to see what everyone else thinks.

Ozzy rules!!

The guy who would be on this list but if could stay friggen healthy is Dmitri Patterson. What a waste of talent.. Gibson also makes the list if he stays healthy.

1) Grimes
2) Vernon
3) Clay
4) Pouncey
5) Tannehill

honorable mentions: Mike Wallace (coming around finally) & Hartline (always clutch)

Ok, who would you then leave off my list to include him?

Fields. Clays contribution > Fields. Fields is great but he is a punter. they are barely football players.

Good list. Worst 5

1. Jonathan Martin
2. Richie Incognito
3. Philip Wheeler
4. Tyson Clabo
5. Caleb Sturgis

Either Hartline or Fields. Fields is arguable the best punter in the NFL but lets be honest, you would take him over Clay?

1. Grimes
2. Tannehill
3. Odrick
4. Vernon
5. Clay

jon martin clabo and philip wheeler have to be the bottom 3

and mckinnie saved our damn season...

No Order:

Ryan Tannehill - He's the QB, he's shown some improvements and he has us in the middle of a playoff race. Yea I criticize him . . . I also realize how important he is to this team.

Brent Grimes - No question, been an absolute blessing for this team. Gotta get him resigned.

Mike Wallace - I keep seeing Clay and Hartline . . . this is the guy that opens all of that stuff up. He stretches the defense for Tannehill to find options underneath. He's a top 5 guy on this team even if the stats don't say so.

Olivier Vernon - I've been impressed from game 1 with this guy. Always a solid run defender, he's developed a nasty little bull rush and then surprises tackles around the corner with a little speed. He's had a tremendous year.

Jared Odrick - Gotta love this guy. Interior force and gets pressure from the inside . . . great run stuffer . . . yet his versatility allows us to move him outside when we are getting overpowered on the edge in the run game and he can also generate pressure from out there also. From a solid trio on the line, he's my pick for this list . . . although the other 2 guys (Starks and Soliai) are in the top 10 of this list.

clay gets a bump because of mike wallace no doubt but you know what he's a top 5 guy for me...

i like the odrick, clay, tannehill, grimes wake top 5 myself

i realize wakes numbers aren't as good but no one commands the o's attention like he does...and he did fight thru a knee injury which he is still working back from...vernons looks he's making more good on but they come because of how much attention wake gets

top 5 most improved...clay, vernon, mathews, carroll, misi

most critical guys to have...tannehill wallace mckinnie grimes clay

Tough to pick 5.

Grimes - no brainer
Patterson - when healthy
Cam Wake - when healthy (pretty much single-handedly gave us a critical win against Cincinnati, are you kidding me)
Ryan Tannehill - accounts for 90% of the offense some weeks, that's got to count for something
Brandon Gibson - that injury hurt

Gibson was flat out impressive before he got hurt and I am very eager to see how his rehab comes along. Played with smarts and heart, and showed some great hands.

Tannehill doesn't deserve to be on the top 5.

1.- Grimes - Best defensive player on the team this year and top 5 CB on the NFL
2.- Vernon - Best pass rusher this year and a top 10 pass rusher on the NFL
3.- Clay - Difference maker on the passing game and a complete weapon on offense.
4.- Fields - Consistent, trustworthy and the best Punter on the entire NFL. A Probowler
5.- Garner - He may be the best OL on the team this year (counting Pouncey), he has vesatility and since starting the OL has improved a LOT.

So far so good for Ryan Tannehill. I know it's early in the thread but when was the last time a QB would have made this list. Ok... Moore 2011 but that is a what's left circumstance. There is some talent on this team because outside of down years and some up years we have a lot of players who have shots at the list. Starks, Solia, Wake, Odrick, Vernon, Ellerby, Grimes, Jones, Clemons, Pouncey, Hartline, Wallace, Clay, Fields, Misi, Gibson, and Patterson.

Easy:

Denney
Fields
Trusnik
Brenner
RJ Stanford
