Who would you rather have as HC: Rex or Philbin?

^yes, don't play with passion enough and start games flat. It's like they took on Philbins personality in a way which may work for coaching to a certain extent but players need to show some fire.

Id rather have Rex on the staff than Philbin at any position. In other words, Rex > Philbin.

I've watched this team come out flat far too many times this season. I think that's a direct reflection of the head coach. I don't see Phibin as a guy who can inspire a team to perform. I wish multimillionaire athletes didn't need to get that inspiration from their head coach every week to play at a top level, but it's apparent they do. For all his faults, and he has plenty of them, Ryan does inspire his players to play for him. Given my druthers, I don't want either guy, but if I have to pick one, I take Ryan for that reason. You can't come out flat week after week and expect to contend for the top prize in this league.

 Love the overreactions after one game.

One week: "omgz! best coach evar!"

Next week: "Omg...fire him. He's not a leader of men!"

anyone who chooses Philbin doesn't want to win. Look at what rex did w/ the talent last year and what he has done w/ the talent this year. The 2 aren't close, Rex is a top 10 coach in this league.

:rotfl1:

Um Rex Ryan...after watching our debacle of a season...decided it would be a good idea to hire Tony Sparano as the offensive coordinator.

Uh...no.

Now..I will say...personally, I like Rex Ryan's coaching personality more. I like coachs that are firey and have their teams ready to run through burning brim stone. But, I dont think that makes him a better coach.

Let's re-start this debate this week.

Rex's team was impressive yesterday in that they played hard for him as they think he is getting the ax. Why can't Joe Philbin ever get that "bounce" out of the team? Joe has done a nice job keeping the team together, but his team is so flat in big spots too many times.

In yet one team has something to play for coming up and the other doesn't. One team is finding themselves starting from the top down and the other is canning said HC after Sunday. Rex has had enough time in NY. He had his moments but still is a career coordinator, and a damn good one at that.

Maybe that's what Philbin will be too but to give up now is just plain ignorant

So no actual examples then of what you're claiming is happening?

Look around the board the past few weeks, man. There's tons of 'em out there. Just do a little hunting, I'm sure you'll find something. I could search all day for overreactions after one game about our coaching, but I've got a lot better things to do. So yeah...have fun!

Rex has done a great job. I don't want to jump ship with Philbin just yet. I DID when it looked like the Martin fiasco was going to make anyone in management too toxic to return. Now, that does not look like the case. I DO advocate firing Philbin IF Ireland is fired. They are in this together. Either both return or both are fired.

If dlockz doesn't start posting again soon he's going to lose his consecutive run on debbie downer awards...

I wanted Rex Ryan when we interviewed him before we hired Sporano. I like the way he coaches.
