who would you rather have?

there is a number of decent backup qb's that are better than what we have, out of these guys who would you want for next year? (assuming we dont draft one)

2.sennaca wallace- seahawks
3.mcpherson-saints
4.volek-titans
5.brees/rivers-chargers
6.kitna-bengals
7.henson-dallas
8.david garrard-jags
9.matt schuab-falcons

out of these i would take wallace,garrard or schaub because they would be cheeper that rivers/brees, if we draft a qb early its going to cost us another 20mill that we cant afford.

What makes you think that any of these QB's would be a major upgrade over our QB's (except for Brees & Kitna). All of these "saviors" would still have to play behind our sub-par O-line. Until that gets fixed you could put Johnny U behind center and it wouldn't matter.

Also, you are basing everything on what you've seen in the pre-season...why do you think that Seneca Wallace or Mike McMahon would fair any different that Feeley or Gus?

Everyone needs to relax a bit and understand that the ONLY thing that matters in the pre-season is how healthy the team is when its over. The majority of those QB's will hold a clip board for the entire year.

Well the obvious choice here is that I would want Brees or Rivers the most out of those mentioned in that list, but I don't think the salary cap would allow us to let that happen. With that being said, excluding them I would want Billy Volek or Jon Kitna... and if either of them were available during FA this offseason, I think that we should DEFINITELY have get them and that they would most likely infact be our starting QB this season. I just don't think that we should trade away any draft picks, or overpay for either of them. But almost all of these players mentioned are not available, and I don't think we should give up any draft picks for a QB. Other than Brees and Rivers, I do feel that Volek and Kitna would be the best options.
