not so much that he failed, but he's had a poor work ethic. If he is signed it's because we want another recieving threat for a TE

If he failed due to ppor work ethic there is a real chance he finds success under Saban. He dosnt seem to have much troble motivating people.

Man, doesn't it feel good to know we have REAL football people in place who leave no stone unturned in finding talent?

As opposed to "well, what can this player do that player x can't?"
...Sorry, horrible wannspiel memories just crept up in my head :fire:

Agree.

Johnson was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the 3rd round if I'm not mistaken. There's never an excuse for poor work ethic, but you're right that Saban seems to have a knack for finding motivation for guys with poor work ethic to actually work at their trade.

Well Manny Wright seems to be working out, I know Teyo has some sick speed for a Tight End (Kinda like Ben Watson, maybe not that badass but still similar) we'd have a great 2 TE set if we wanted to pass.

It was at the end of the 2nd round. Johnson came out early...still had two years of college eligibility. He's about 6'7"...it would be nice if he could go back to playing the WR spot.

Teams like Notre Dame are using two 6'5" receivers with great success.

Saban liked having a big receiver at LSU w/ Michael Clayton.

A big WR that plays like a big WR has been lacking for the last couple of years.

A TO clone if you will.

TO ain't that big, he's 6'3" and his biggest weapon has not been his size but his amazing second gear.

that is something I never thought about.

He was a WR in college, and Callahan told him to switch to TE because of his height. He's got great recieving skills, but he struggled to adjust to the 3-point stance and taking on DE's/LBs.

When the Raiders drafted Courtney Alexander, Teyo's work ethic went south (along with a strained relationship with Norv)

Denny Green used him as a TE to, and again, it's not his natural position.
