inside linebacker going into next year... who would you rather have on the roster?


bart scott
channing crowder


I was going to include some other possibilities but thought just keeping to one answer or the other may be just as easy.
 
Based on talent alone, I would pick Bart Scott easily over Crowder. He's head and shoulders a better player.

Now whether or not Scott is worth the price it would take to sign him is the question. The Dolphins may be better off keeping Crowder for a lower price and using the money elsewhere.
 
I think they could upgrage over Crowder, but hes already been in the system for a year callin the plays. Throw him some table scraps to keep him around for another year, and draft his replacement.
 
I like Crowder... does a solid job, nothing specacular though. Ayodele can be replaced with ease.... picture having someone explosive, and instinctual next to Crowder... WHOOOOO_WEEEEEE
 
i'll take Bart over Channing...Channing just doesn't get it done...doesn't attack the LOS,makes his tackle 7-10 yards downfield after the opposing player has gained the 1st down or more,doesn't get INT's or FF's...plus Bart Scott knows the 3-4 defense alot better than Crowder...

I really dont get all the man love for Mr. Scott on this site...
 
Scott is a more talented player that has played ILB for the last 2 years but was an OLB and 9.5 sacks from that spot 2 years ago. That versatility makes him very valuable but he is better suited as an OLB but with Ray Lewis around you aren't going to get many tackles. He seemed to be the other ILB taking on guards to free up Ray. If he was the man at ILB he would have much better numbers from the ILB position in the 3-4.
 
I still don't see why people would want to replace Channing with Scott.

I like Channing Crowder who is younger than Scott and coming off his first full season at starting inside linebacker in a 3-4 defense. Channing played next to Akin Ayodele and Scott played next to Ray Lewis...kind of a big difference in talent there.

If anything, give me Scott WITH Crowder.

I didnt realize he was that old
 
I think people are getting the wrong idea here. Its not that Crowder isn't good but that he is not playing next to elite talent either. Akin is old and not as good as he used to be while Ray Lewis is old and meaner than ever. How is it that when talking about most positions, good players around you make your numbers better yet here we are, some people are saying with Ray Lewis next to you, it makes your numbers worse!

Quite defending Scott with your flexible logic that could work both ways! pick a side and stick with it. Does talent around you make a player better or worse? I think its obviousluy better but some people think otherwise!

Crowder FTW! Scott could be a nice addition WITH Crowder!
