Bob Griese: 2 time SB champion, member of the undefeated team, hall of famer.

Dan Marino: Retired with every major passing record, considered the greatest player in franchise history, but zero SB wins.

So who's career would you rather have?

I dont know.. I think id rather have marino's career.. Marino could put a team on his shoulders and carry them all the way on his own (other than a superbowl win).. Griese on the other hand had a great supporting cast and has 2 superbowl rings, but he couldnt put a team on his shoulders like Marino could and single handedly tear teams up

I would rather be part of Bobs teams then Dans but I'd take Dan's career in the end.

Bob. I can't imagine anything being more fulfilling than hoisting a super bowl trophy that you lead your team to.

Precisely the reason Marino not getting it is so unfortunate because he was so great and deserved it.

-I am surprised Dan is winning this particular poll.

The question isn't "Who is the better QB?" It's "Whose career would you rather have?" Dan would tell you he'd rather have one ring than any of his records.

Many of his records have since fallen in recent years. I'd go with Bob Superbowl Champ guarantees a place in NFL history.

Who commands more respect, when he enters an opponents field? Dan Marino.....
The lack of jewlery, and many of us agree with that, was not his fault......With the proper supporting cast, he coulve had 5! But a ring doesnt guarantee you were one of the top 10 players in your position.....EVER!
Daniel Marino is my choice

Precisely. Marino is doomed to obscurity. That may not seem obvious right now, and posters on this board may be horrified, but I'm old enough to have seen it. The guys who were legends in my youth are no longer mentioned at all. Notice how the lists of greatest or most memorable, or whatever, always default to the most recent. Those lists don't even resemble the identical ones I remember from 20 or 30 years ago. Nothing changed except the age and therefore the memories of the people in charge of making them. That's an ongoing cycle. Dan Marino will be a trivia answer in a few decades, his records long since erased. The young fans may remember him from TV, being teased about lack of a ring.

The 1972 team is immortal as long as no one matches it. Griese is attached to that team although he didn't QB all 17 games, in fact merely a handful that season.

I'd take Griese's career and give 50,000. That's a rough estimate of how many what-ifs Marino has had to wake up to, or think about, stuff that Griese can sleep through with a little grin.
