We have to spend several million dollars to stay under league cap rule! How do you think Parcells & Co. will spend it? WR,CB,Ol,or maybe lock in some players before fa next year. Just a thought.:d-day:
 
Resign Carey, extend Crowder, then look to pick up a WR, maybe give Ricky a raise midway through the season.
 
Carey has to be a no brainer. Unless somehow they get that OT from Dallas they supposedly love you have to keep Carey. That would be an expensive set of bookends but what a solid young line you would have for years.

IF YBell could stay healthy you have to wonder if he would get an extension. He's older but has pro bowl potential if healthy.

I'd say a Carey signing with signing bonus money up front like the Vikes do where it hits this year and then next it's off the books is the way to go until we find the right FA pickups. That way next year we would have alot of cap room again.

Vernon Carey would be high on my list.
 
Vernon Carey is a no brainer. Channing Crowder could see a new contract if he plays up to the level he's capable of playing. Yeremiah, as it is with every year, it comes down to his health. If he stays healthy, and has a good season, I could see him getting a 4 or 5 year deal. Ricky's contract will be interesting. Most teams usually don't an extend the contract of a 31 year old RB. Ricky is not like most 31 year old RB's, he has less wear and tear on his body. Ultimately, Ricky is going to determine Ricky's status. I could see him getting anywhere between a one year deal to a three year deal.

That's four guys that could see new deals this season. They can't spend too much cap room though, because if Henne pans out the way we all hope he will, then you have to pay your franchise quarterback. We all know that won't be cheap.
 
Vernon Carey is a must to re-sign. Ricky Williams will need an extension.
 
I, think Parcells wants to see Carey and players this year before giving new contracts . I, thought the money had to be spent before start of 2008 season . Is this correct? if so I think waiver wires could take up the extra money!

Parcells wont resign anyone until they prove themselves on the field. He knows it and they know it. Its just how he works and one of his ways to motivate players. I expect Carey to get a new contract mid way through the year along with Ricky getting a new contract.
 
Vernon Carey. He can play the right or the left and that makes him very valuable for any team. Lock him up now or it will just get more expensive.
