For the sake of discussion, assume we will draft a QB on the first day (rounds 1, 2 or 3) of the upcoming draft. Also assume that drafting a QB is our absolute number #1 priority. For fun, I also want to pretend that all the great junior quarterbacks will declare. Who's the best bet for our Dolphins, or did I leave someone out that should have been in there??

I wanted to start a thread like this for two reasons (and it's my last poll, I promise). One, I wanted to test the idea that the results will be heavily weighted towards Young and Leinart in the beginning because many of us are watching them play today. Two, because I want to see how opinions on this board change (or don't change) between now and the draft.

I myself am a huge Brady Quinn fan for what it's worth.

Brody Croyle (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=128154)
Jay Cutler (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=115374)
Omar Jacobs (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=134244)
Matt Leinart (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=120511)
Drew Olson (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=137200)
Paul Pinegar (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=120888)
Brady Quinn (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=150329)
Marcus Vick (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=135239)
Vince Young (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/player/profile?playerId=135107)

sorry i had to take the homer vote with Brodie Croyle but i honestly think it will be Jay Cutler because we'd have to give up too much for Leinhart

I know you say 1, 2, or 3, but I see at least some chance Croyle could be the next great Miami early day two pick. Even as a 3rd rounder, I like him as a Dolphin.

Yeah I think I would like it too. Bob Griese is from the same area of southern Indiana. Thanks, I didnt think I had a chance, I really liked DM's sig.

Quinn and Leinart look like they might be neck and neck the whole way through. Here's my reasoning for why Quinn is the smart pick:
1) Leinart is surrounded by weapons, Quinn isn't. Thus Quinn can carry a team.
2) Both are in NFL offenses, but Quinn picked things up so fast (and did so well)
that he must be both smart and very coachable.
3) USC was good last year, Notre Dame wasn't. The metoric rise of the Irish must be
a function of Brady Quinn (more support for #1).

these are probably some of the best arguments for Quinn i've seen, and don't get me wrong i like Quinn but i'm not sure if he's coming out so as of right now Cutler's my choice

Last I checked, Quinn isn't a freshman this year. It would seem to me that to the extent you want to argue this, you have to argue that it was a function of Weis and not of Quinn. That makes Quinn start to look a bit more like a Kyle Boller.

.

I'm thinking it had more to do with the hiring of Weiss

jay cutler is our guy

as much as I would love Matt L.,we wont be drafting in a position to grab him.I think Jay Cutler is the guy.I am also very disappointed they view Phillip Rivers the way they do,the kid has IT.

actually if u take a good look at drew olsons stats they r pretty impressive from the teams he went up against also he has only threw 6 interceptions all year. he seems like a qb i would like. he makes good decisions has a good arm and would probably go in the 3rd. i say either brady quinn or drew olsen but its only my opinion
