I noticed in the press conference that Mike Tannenbaum gave a little bit of how they came to their decision to fire Philbin. He said he and Garfinkle met. Not Hickey, not Aponte, not even Ross. He said the two of them THEN went to Ross about it.

Been saying since he got here that this is Mike Tannenbaum's team . . . yet the Hickey disciples felt otherwise.

Hickey is the head scout . . . Mike is the VP of all operations . . . essentially he is Bill Parcells and Hickey is Jeff Ireland (remember when Parcells was here you heard very little about Jeff Ireland).

Hickey has very little input, if any at all, in dealings with front office and Organizational issues . . . his only focus is roster management and even in that role Mike Tannenbaum is his overseer.

This is reality.

Even to the point that it seems it wasn't Ross' decision to fire Philbin, but Mikes

It may come off as a "Ross decision" . . . but you best believe Mike was in his ear the entire time saying "Steven we need to act now or this season is gone . . . he's lost the team".

If Mike Tannenbaum was not here, Joe Philbin would still be your coach today . . . I firmly believe that.

^^^Whatever, If thats the organization setup and it works for them and us. Then who cares? Whats the point?

^^^Once more who cares and what's the point. Ross has stated he is a Real Estate guy and appropriately bought in a football person. The football person may have told him whats the best thing to do for his football team. So, I ask once more what's the problem here?

There is no point . . . you hire a VP of football operations to handle . . . . . "operations". Why we had all this back and forth about Hickey being separate from Tannenbaum when Tannenbaum was hired is beyond me. Seems trivial right about now.

Ross needed a voice . . . if anything, Mike Tannenbaum will give him that and Mike's job is to protect the interest of the Miami Dolphins . . . . by firing Joe Philbin he did just that as the team was going to be a disgrace if we kept him as coach.

Your right guys nothing to see hear. Ross is doing with a owner that doesn't understand football operations, hire someone that does. Many of owners have super bowls with this model. Few owners are really football guys that know how to run a football organization.

God, I'm so sick of this mentality here! WE ALL WANT THE SAME ****ING THING! Quit acting like everybody is in a cult following over members of the team. Hickey disciples?! How ridiculous! Even sounds moronic!

Amazing the types of things people try to complain about. The guy hires someone that knows more about Fb than he does and likely listens to him at a critical juncture. I assume thats the point and especially at that time. But, once more leave it to folks to want to find fault in that.

Tannenbaum is in charge. He's the hammer.

was this ever in doubt?

The entire banter was moronic . . . "Tannenbaum has no say . . . this is Hickey's roster". That stance was taken the day Mike was hired and it was a joke.

Have to call a spade a spade . . . . can't help if those that felt that way catch feelings about it.

I agree, we all want the same thing.

JTC111 That's what has people worried.

Yup ... count me as one.
