Its obvious that Brady Quinn and Jamarcus Russell are the Top 2 QBs in the draft...in the likely case Quinn is gone at #9, id imagine Miami would make a strong run for the 3rd best QB in the draft...and id like to see who my fellow finheaveners think is the best 3rd QB in the draft between:

Kolb
Stanton
Edwards
Beck
Palmer
Troy Smith
Tyler Palko
Jared Zabransky
 
In my opinion it is Kolb.

He is a leader, has a capable arm, seems smart, and can run an offense. I would love to have him in the 3rd round or with our second 2nd rounder.
 
so u Kolb Supporters dont think he is the product of a system? yes i love how he is a shotgun guy...cuz thats what Miami needs, someone who can play shotgun well...but u dont think thats ALL he can do? u think he can be coached to play NFL offense style?
 
This thread should be merged with the one that was just created asking "After Quinn, who would you take?" that is a little ways down.

its got to be beck. he is awaome. the only reson he isnt higher is because of his school, BYU. his stats are amazing with a bad team. he has great arm strength, accuracy, mobility, intellegents, what more do you want. he is the guy.

I like Stanton and Edwards, but I am concerned about them being injured all the time. I like Beck n although I do not have a concern with his age, I think the only way to go is Brady Quinn.
I also know that both Smith and Leak are great QBs, but will remain in the latter rounds due to their height.

Zach, I can tell you are really high on Beck. I don't think that him being from BYU detracts from him at all. BYU is QBU--Steve Young, Ty Detmer, Jim McMahon, Marc Wilson, Gifford Nielson etc., etc. BYU won the Mountain West this year with a 10-2 record, and ended up ranked #16 in the nation after pounding Oregon in their bowl game. BYU is solid, they've had a Heisman winner and won the national championship. The fact that he's from BYU is really a good omen.

Talent wise, Stanton and Edwards are right up there with Russell and Quinn. However due to freak injuries, horrible supporting casts, and incompetent coaching, neither were able to develop. Edwards was actually the number 1 QB in his class.

Kolb and Beck are up there in talent, but they're not near as talented as Stanton and/or Edwards
 
I'd prefer Edwards followed by Stanton. I think they're the second tier of QB's in this draft. I'd consider Kolb, Beck and Smith to be the next best in that order. The other guys on that list probably will have to wait until day 2 to hear their names called.
 
Kolb, then either Edwards or Stanton...

Just watch what he (Kolb) did to South Carolina (who almost beat Florida 16-17 in the swap...)
