Whoever he is, he shut down Cam Wake today. Jason Taylor and Kendall Langford drew Joe Thomas on the left side.

Is it safe to say that Cam Wake has been figured out? His 14 sack season was a flash in the pan?

Every RT has seemed to shut Wake down this year. So now it looks like we literally have no pass rushers on this team if Wake really has been figured out.

he has 2 sacks in 3 games.

hes on "track" for 11-12 sacks.

See I didn't even notice that.

Really it's the FO's fault that he's not lighting it up right now like last year though. It's not hard to take a guy out of a game if you put enough attention toward him and his side. The problem is teams usually can't do that because the other side has a legit pass rusher as well. Guess what we don't have?

Wake is getting held nearly every time he gets the corner. Sometimes it's not called, but sometimes it has been. Those called holds are basically sacks but they don't go down on Wake's stat sheet. Wake would look a lot better if there was a pass rush coming from more than him. So many sacks in this league don't originate from one guy just beating his blocker, it's usually ping-ponging between defenders that ends with one of them bringing the QB down.

Put me out there, and I'll probably shut down JT at this point.

God what a terrible signing that was. Not even close to the pass rusher we needed, and then on top of that he ruins team chemistry.

But yea Wake's been disappointing so far.

Wake has one move, a low to the ground, speed rushing move. If a tackle can move back with him and push him to the ground, he is beaten all game. I do not think Cameron Wake being shut out the last three games last season was a accident.

Jason Taylor was a great ROLB, but that was 5-6 years ago, now he is still our 2nd and best all around pass rusher. So what does that say about our defense?

We have no pass rush and we can't stop one. The Browns had 5 sacks on us. We had zero.

just goes to show we use our first round pick on an o-lineman next season.:d-day:

The Browns RT was out for the game. Their swing tackle started at RT, and he's not very good. I thought Wake would have a big game, and I still don't understand how/why he didn't.

Wake should have had one sack, but McCoy scrambled out of his grasp as Wake was falling. Wake was getting pressure, but McCoy was moving out of the pocket, or getting rid of the ball quickly.

Wake is just not the same guy this year. You can blame it on whatever you want, but he just doesn't seem to get off the ball like he did last season. He is still our best pass rusher, but that is saying next to nothing at this point. I posted in an earlier thread about our lack of pass rush and I was assured that besides Wake we would get excellent pressure from Odrick, Starks, and Langford. As well as Dansby on the blitz. Well I am not seeing much pressure from anyone and QBs have all day to throw against our weak secondary.

wake had 2 sacksheading into weak 4 last year also. albeit he had a little bit better of an overall season up to this point. wake is the least of my worries on D
