At first I really thought that the O-Line was to blame for a lot of the sacks that Culpepper was taking, but after watching Joey take the snaps I think many more sacks fall on Culpepper than the O-Line. I think the O-Line played a pretty good game last week especially seeing that we were playing a very difficult defense to pick up the blitz against. So did the O-Line just get that much better overnight or was more of the blame for the sacks on Culpepper than many of us thought?

I also dont think that the O-Line is to blame for Ronnie's troubles. I think he needs to just lower his shoulder and hit the hole. There are holes there a lot of times and he's dancing around behind his O-Line instead of hitting the hole. I'm not saying that he has a hole every time because that isn't true, but he does have more holes that what he hits.

After yesterday's game it is obvious that Daunte was holding the ball too long and was the main problem for all the sacks, but they need to mix the run game up.

O-line at times has played well, but very inconsistant. Vs the pats it seemed they blocked better - and hopefully that will continue(god damnit it better). Ronnie's troubles are nothing more then his hesitation to hit the hole and find the cutback - i agree with you on that, so many times i think to my self if only ricky was in at that play he woulda broke it outside for 40yards....

I think that the o-line is usually to blame, but Pepp was largely responsible for a lot of our sacks. Our line isn't good, but Harrington did not let that cripple his game and Daunte did. As for the running game, we need more holes, but I doubt Ronnie's ability to follow them even if they were there.

Our OL does suck mostly, they inmproved Sunday, but Joey also got rid of the ball faster. They still suck at run blocking, need some serious improvement on OL.

Like I have been saying, the O-line sucks, but Daunte takes at least 50% of the blame.

Ok here is another question that I pose. Do we need a new O-Line again for the 3rd year in a row, or do we just need to give these guys some time to get better under Houck. I just seen a thread saying that game has passed him by, but I dont think that Saban is giving him enough time with players to make them better. I would argue that we need to try and find a good OL player in the draft, but I dont think we should overhaul the line again because were just going to be back in the same place next year.

Well, it might be the blocking scheme changed for yesterday's game or it might just be that Harrington didn't hold on as long, but the pass blocking definitely seemed better. However, the absolute futility on the ground leads me to believe that the o-line is still the weakest link in our offensive chain.

The offensive line is still the primary culprit. They improved against New England, but that doesn't mean they weren't the problem in the first four games.

You know all these years we've been having sub-par O-line you'd think we'd land a Big name guy on our line to shore it up. guess not. Hopefully if this season continue on its current course we can land ourselves a Big ole' tackle in the first.

Miami with Joey at the helm will finish 9-7 or 10-6.

whats wrong with all the sacks aren't just one thing, its a combination of things. our offensive line isnt very good, and can't block very well at all. daunte's immobility doesnt contribute to this problem. all of our opponents blitz us all the time and we can't find a way to stop it with daunte running very slow out of the pocket. our lack of a downfield passing game also allows opponents to stack the box and constantly rush into our backfield. maybe ronnie brown wouldnt look so bad if he didnt have guys consistently hitting him in the backfield. NOBODY can have big games with such little help. i strongly believe that the quarterback situation is the least of our problems. it doesnt matter who we line up at qb if they are not used properly.

I think you have to blame Culpepper for most of them. If you look at Joey's performance behind the same line, you see that he was sacked once. Joey got the ball out and moved around more.

The O-line could clean up some things for sure, but I think we will see in the coming weeks that Culpepper was responsible for getting sacked so many times.

Remember how good the Viking's horrible O line got all of a sudden last year when Brad Johnson came in after Daunte got hurt? And by the way, Brad took the Vikes to a 7-2 finish and almost made the playoffs. So don't give up on your season yet, as long as Daunte stays on the bench.

The O-line is horrible on pass protect and on run blocking.....Not trying to be negative, but the reason there was only one sack yesterday was because Harrington got the ball out quicker than CPEP...The Rush still came, but backed off a little after a few completions...So the Sacks can be contributed mostly to the O-line, but CPEP can share a good part of that blame as well...
