I can't believe the time Rodgers has to throw. It seems like decades pass before he is forced to throw if he ever is forced to throw. I swear he would snap the ball, sign some autographs, then throw the ball Also, he has been checking down for most of the evening so far. And some people would rather blame Tannehill than acknowledge our offensive line is as strong as wet tissue paper :bobdole:...

Rogers almost seems uncomfortable with the amount of time he has in the pocket. The Falcons defense is not very good.

If Anyone is Watching MNF

I know this will most likely be moved to General NFL but it does relate to how poor our line play has been.

If anyone is watching the MNF game you'll see how efficient the Packers OL is giving Rogers time to go downfield. It's so ridiculous that ESPN put a clock on it and he consistently has had 4+ seconds to release the ball. They even clocked a play that he had 5 seconds then opted to run and it was another 3.5 seconds before he had to dive. Further, if you go back to the NE game in week 1 you'll see how poorly Brady played because of the pressure our defense got on him. Brady was inaccurate, at times wildly, and his numbers were low. 4.45 was the YPA that game.

It's not rocket science folks. You give a QB time he'll carve a defense up. You pressure him and it's a long day. This is a huge influence on the YPA stat I see so grossly misrepresnted. YPA is more of a reflection of an offenses efficiency than a QBs performance.

Is there a site that tracks "time before pressure" or something like that? It would be interesting to see how that data correlates with YPA and overall QB performance.

Shouright actually found a site that does and supplied a chart and if I recall correcty, it showed Tannehill had an average 2.5 seconds until contact. Because it clearly showed how inefficient the OL was playing the discussion turned to QBs scrambling and how that skews the stats. That thread was quite a battlefield for some and entertaining for others

I have missed Paul Soliai the last three weeks.

Rodgers sees everything. He throws it quick when he has to and he stands there for 15 seconds if the defense allows him to. And one of the reasons he's afforded more time is because of his own arm talent, teams actually respect his ability to drop it in the bucket 30 yards down the field.

Tannehill throws it quick as well. Unfortunately our OL doesn't give him that amount of time to get it downfield. Unlike the Packers OL, ours struggles with only 4 rushing.

The Packers OL can protect Rodgers from a 4 man rush, because Ted Thompson > Jeff Ireland The end.

Think about he right tackles Jeff Ireland brought us the last few years: Colombo, Martin, Clabo, Thomas. All of them TERRIBLE. See a trend? Ja'Wuan James was not terrible. Who drafted him?

It's almost like our offensive line has sucked donkey dick because our previous GM was exactly as bad as we said he was.

Maybe Tannehill throws it quick the times he could stand there like a lot of QBs do. And if he threw a better deep ball they wouldn't be able to rush 4 or 5 every down.

Yes. I am. 3 Thoughts.

1) Ryan T is doing better against The Packers D than M Ryan.
2) You would think in the Northern WI weather that melty would be more solid
3) For all the carping about Coyle, would you prefer Nolan were still the phins DC?

When they put the clock on Romo he was getting like 7 seconds on a couple of plays. How much time do you think Brady will get next week compared to Ryan? When Brady's yards per attempt were so low at the beginning of the year it was no coincidence that's when his O line was struggling.

Matt Ryan had no business at all throwing that pass to jones on third and goal.

fact that Green Bay is so good and Miami is so bad Tells me Joe had no idea what was going on in Green Bay during his tenure there....

Folks, this is why we needed to fire Jeff Ireland in 2011. THIS is why. Instead we gave this now-unemployed clown 2 more years to screw it up.

Look at the players Jeff Ireland has brought in on the OL between 2008 and 2013.

Most are out of the NFL, and the ones that aren't SUCK. John Jerry sucks (ask a Giants fan). Jon Martin blows (ask a 49ers fan). Both of those teams got WORSE when they picked those players up.

Think about the fact that last season we went into the year with a starting OL that included Jon Martin, Tyson Clabo, and John Jerry. With Dallas Thomas on the roster.

It's not that we don't have a great OL, it's that we haven't even had a CHANCE at a COMPETENT one. When Pouncey got hurt in the preseason, we were forced to sign a guy OFF HIS COUCH. A guy who had been let go by the Colts because he sucked, and NO OTHER TEAM signed going into training camp. SAMSON SATELE BECAME ONE OF OUR BEST FIVE. We moved Mike Pouncey to guard because our OL was SO BAD that a guy we signed OFF THE STREET DURING TRAINING CAMP after no other team was interested in him was one of our best five.

That should tell you EVERYTHING.
