now some of u guys already know i made a thread "why beasely"...now for me its "why not beasely!?!?!!" which is my question...why not beasely..

Are you referring to Beasley being a replacement for Ricky Williams in case Ronnie Brown was to go down due to injury or some other circumstance?

no im saying beasely should be our fullback now that ricky is gone but saban wants 2 #1 backs

Beasley will be the fullback. Having 2 capable RB to share the load has nothing to do with whether or not we have a FB. It was rare for Ricky and Ronnie to be on the field at the same time in 2005. The same will be true in 2006. Ronnie will be the guy, but you also need someone capable of carrying 10-15 games per game to spell him, and hopefully that guy is someone that can be an effective starter if Ronnie was to get hurt.

Beasley was always going to be a fullback regardless of if Ricky was here or not, and Ricky was a tailback. Unless we get another back somewhere else, Morris will be playing the place of Ricky.

And seriously, where did you get the avy? I have been wondering for a while.

Hey guys, why don't we make Daunte Culpepper our quarterback now that Gus Frerotte is gone.....

I will try and speak veeeeeeeeeery slooooooowly. :D

Beasley will battle and likely beat out Darian Barnes for the FB spot. Because Morris can back up both the FB and the RB we will likely only carry one true FB and as many as four RB's, Morris being both a back-up FB and RB.

In the Dolphin offense you can figure on roughly 450 carries from the RB for the season. If you give Brown 300 of them (which is still nearly 100 more carries than he has ever had) that still leaves 150 carries for a second #1 RB. No way in our system will the FB, any FB, get 150 carries a season.

What may be confusing is that Brown and Williams both started a number of games and split some carries that way. They were still largely RB carries however without either regularly taking on the lead blocking duties of a FB. Brown could sometimes line up like a FB because he can come out of the backfield and catch a lot of passes.

Does this help?
