. Suh earned a place on the PFF Top 101 at No. 27 overall, just two spots lower than a year ago, despite the narrative that he had the worst performance of his career in his first season as a Dolphin.
In each of his six seasons in the NFL, Suh has earned a positive pass-rushing grade. He has always been able to penetrate and get after the passer, but for the first couple of seasons, that came at the expense of playing the run. He would shoot gaps and take himself completely out of the play, leading to negative grades in run defense in each of his first three seasons. At times it seemed like all you needed to run against Detroit was a trap-block, and you would render Suh inert against the rushing attack. Since then, however, he has steadily improved that aspect of his game and bettered his grade from the previous season in each of his last three campaigns.

I get the feeling 2016 is going to be a great year for him.

I no longer trust so called "analysis" from national writers that have no local context. I don't know if PFF is absolutely accurate in their assessment of Suh last year, but just from watching games, I could tell that his play wasn't nearly as bad as some analysts claim.

This is not the first article written this year to state Suh was better than the national narrative on him. If the Dolphins can get those around him to play at a competent level...

This sums up the issue with people who watch Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets rather than actually watching games - it is both inaccurate and misleading

Seems like even the local guys aren't much better. At least based off the reactions from around here and on social media.

I'm optimistic that Ndamukong is set for a good season this year for the following reasons:
- (a) the elimination of the chop block. Opposing O-linemen chop blocked him all last season. Penalizing this is a very big deal for Ndamukong.
- (b) the addition of his former Detroit position coach Eric Washburn to the Dolphin coaching staff is a big positive.
- (c) the return of Wake after missing the last half of last season and the addition of Mario Williams means that he has more talent around him.
- (d) the departure of Kevin Coyle was unsettling and then Lou Anarumo took over on the fly. Now a new Defensive Coordinator in Vance Joseph starts fresh with time to teach the new system.
- (e) Statistically major free agent acquisitions who switch teams, play better in their second season than their first at the new club.

I will agree about one thing...the average fan judges a D-lineman too much on QB pressure and not enough on run defense.

I don't really know where last season ranks for Suh....and doubt most of you watched every game Suh played in detroit either.
