It's pretty simple, all four of us (AFC East) have to play them and I don't see any of us beating that team. There isn't going to be any wild card berths coming out of this division, it's win the east or go home this year. So it's more then likely going to come down to head to head match ups in the end.

Before I get jumped on, this is plan (B) obviously anything can happen and I'll be sitting on the edge of my seat just like all of you rooting for our Fins on Sunday. I'm just not gonna flip out if this one turns out to be a bad match up for us.

We need this game bad. We lose, we have the same record as the Jills. We're at home, following a bye week. There's absolutely no reason we can't win this game. Well...besides our defense being poor...regardless, I think this game is going to be closer than people think and I'm going to go into the game expecting a close game that could go either way. We need a score from either the defense or special teams. If we can do that and/or force a couple TO's I like our chances.

And here's why we need to win: We're still currently in 3rd place.

Well yeah winning would be great but we play Saints/Jets/Pats next 3 games if we can get 2 out of 3 that ain't bad with a Bucs match up following it, and I would rather the 2 be against division foes. I'm just saying some people on here don't put losses in perspective.

Great point. For some reason, it feels like we're alot better than 3rd, doesn't it?? must be the euphoria from beating the Jests.

We're 2-3 and our next 3 games are brutal.

I think it's because we have the best divisional record plus a new hope in the fact that we aren't so one dimensional on offence.

I also think I should have titled this, Why a loss won't be as bad as we will think not that it won't matter because of course a win would be huge for us.

^ Plus we should have beaten an undeafeted Colts team and we've been beat by some pretty good teams. We'll have to play lights out to make the playoffs after our 0-3 start but we're a pretty dang good 2-3 team. Sounds silly I know.

We do have the best division record, but that wont come in to play unless our overall record is the same as someone else. Plus we haven't played the Patsies yet.

But I understand what you were saying: if we have to lose a game, then this one against an NFC team will hurt less than losing a division game, or even a conference game.

This post starts off badly, but I agree that we aren't gonna match up well with the Saints... but to say that there won't be a wildcard from the AFC east?!? Let's take a look at the division..

AFC East:
Patriots 4-2
Jets 3-3
Dolphins 2-3
Bills 2-3

weak AFC West
Broncos 5-0
Chargers 2-2
Raiders 2-4
Chiefs 1-5

AFC North (almost definitely will get 1 wildcard, has a possibility of getting both)
Bengals 4-2
Steelers 4-2
Ravens 3-3
Browns 1-5

And finally the weak AFC South
Colts 5-0
Jags 3-3
Texans 3-3
Titans 0-6

From these stats why on earth would you say the east isn't gonna have a wildcard.... East almost has a 100% chance of getting 1 wild card and a possibility at having 2...

Exactly thank you, and you kind of made my point a little because we play the Pats 2 time and Jets one more even with a loss against the Saints we could still catch them. It would at least be in own hands.

btw my thoughts on the game the only rational thing to think is that drew brees will absolutely destroy our secondary. We will play the same ball control offense and have multiple 10+ minute drives, so I think we can make the game close only because we can shorten the game tremendously and keep brees off the field..

if we don't play extremely well on offense we will lose..

You need to look at the remaining schedule for all of the teams because trust me it's brutal for the East you can't just go off the records as they stand now. Your nuts if you think 3 east teams are getting in.
