Why is it that all these Jests fans and even players are saying that the wildcat is gimmicky, or trickery, and there all calling it crap. The wildcat is the single wing formation that has been used since the thirtys. There own team uses the same exact formation. I watched them use it against the Saints, and they TRIED to use it against us, but Channing had something to say about that. I'll tell you what, those fake punts....what do you call that? Is that not trickery? They are just very upset that they're "savior" Rex Ryan got the ball shoved up his lard a$$ by a team he opened his mouth to before the season even began. GET OVER IT REX AND THE JETS......YOU GOT OWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's anything but a gimmick. Ask Gruden (who knows a little something about coaching). He said the WC is 'a hat on a hat and let the best man win'.

You think the WC works now. Wait until we get a legitimate passing attack consistently.....

Dude! I love your signature pic! Awesome...just awesome! LOL forever!!!!

it's funny because all the jets fans were saying that the jets were going to stop the wildcat, just like ryan did last season with the ravens. Now that he couldn't, it's gimmicky and crap. lol

That's the thing that bugs me. You see your team doing something successfully and the losing team has to take jabs at it. How about the two punt plays the Jets managed? Maybe the first was a juggled snap, but the second was Miami's inability to stop it. And, like the original post stated, the Jets tried the WC, they just call it the Sonoma or whatever..lol...We stopped it behind the line.

If the Jets could work it into their offense, and run it successfully, Jets fans would be hugging all over each other.

What I am really having a hard time accepting is that everyone is calling it a gimmick, but for the most part it is a power running formation, most of the time the run is straight up the middle. How is that a gimmick? The sweeps to Ricky is a gimmick also? I guess every team that runs up the middle or a sweep is running a gimmick offense, so the teams that get beat will always have an excuse.

Their version is the Seminole

LMAO!!!!! They TRIED it and Washington lost 5 yards!!!! BWAAAAHAHAHAHA!!!!

The Jests were gimmicky all night!! 2 fake punts???? Those are the only reason the game was competitive. PUHLEASE!

It's not just Jets fans. Even many Dolphin fans think it's a gimmick. Or don't you remember the poll early in the year about the Wildcat? Most people weren't behind it. This is because the media has done a terrible job of explaining it (probably because most announcers don't understand it themselves).

I like to think of the Wildcat as smart smashmouth. The misdirection keeps the defense from killing it with run-blitzes. Defenders have to stay home and beat their man... and the Dolphins blockers have done an awesome job of winning their matchups.
