I'm a local and gonna stick with all Miami teams for life, even the Marlins. However, there are many Out of Town fans who have stuck with the Phins through many years of disappointment, when It would be so easy to change to a different team.

Why?

Telling my age here but I became Phins fan before they even won the two Super Bowls. It sort of started with my father being an O.J. Simpson fan. He didn't really care for the Bills but loved him some O.J. I was a Mercury Morris fanatic. Pops would tease me about how much the Juice was going to wreck Miami and for the most part, he was right. Juice did normally get his. But, they lost more often than not during those days when facing Miami. First quarter Pops would be talking much smack and then be almost silent in the 4th..... :D

I grew up in ft. Laud. Fla, been a phin fan all my life. Soon as Shula came I was hooked. He came right when I started really looking at football and he brought my favorite WR Paul Warfield at the time. No need to change now.

Jumped on the bandwagon in 1972 and never jumped off. You ask why and I have no idea.

I went to the games with my grandparents as a kid (they were season ticket holders). We left Florida for Atlanta when I was 14, but I found Falcons fans to be obnoxious, and I never bought into the Vick hype. When you grow up watching Marino score 50 points on Monday nights, Vick doesn't really look impressive. After that, the Falcons were just as bad as the phins for years (or worse).

On the bright side, I'm moving back to Florida this month (Sebring), so I will finally get to watch the games every Sunday hopefully.

Not a bandwagon fan that just chooses teams that are currently winning. As with any team there are going to be ups and downs, you just need to stick with them. We have had a recent bad past, but hopefully it seems they are finally turning the corner.

I don't think fanhood has as much to do with current physical location than a personal relationship, experience, or memory.

Maybe we just like the abuse.

Jumped on the bandwagon in 1972 and never jumped off. Why you ask? I no clue.

Just curious. Being in South Beach, I have seen many Phans from all over the place , with a number of them giving up and changing their team to follow.

A true fan doesn't choose the team, he was chosen by the team!

So, you can't just change YOUR team...
