Umm.. why are ppl on this board still sayin fins cant make the playoffs? I mean im not sayin it will happen but by all means its def a possibility.. it is way to early to say we will go, but it is just as well to early to say we cant go.. i understand what we were last year, but the majority of players on this team were not even here last year.. and i believe that explains the first 2 games.. we were young and the players were gettin used to playing with each other, but now they are coming together.. as it sits right now we are currently in 9th place in the conference.. but 6th place (wild card spot) is indy and they are also 2-2.. so we are basically a game behind a spot.. again i know it is to early to make predictions now, so im not.. but i dont wanna hear ppl say it is unrealistic for us to not go either.. no one can tell at this point.. but the way we r playin and the way our schedule looks i say we have a fighting chance!!

GO FINS :woot:

Without reading your reading your post I can give you the easy answer. Yes we are not now but we need to beat some more legitimate contenders before we can be taken seriously along with winning against the ones that we should be expected to win.

With the state of the AFC right now, it is indeed very possible. But they have a long way to go.

Ummmmm.....where exactly are we going to find more legitimate contenders than SD on our schedule? There aren't many. I would rank them our 3rd hardest game. Here's how I would rank our opponents this year:

DEN, Balt, SD, ARZ, HOU, BUF, NE, NYJ, SF, SEA, OAK, KC, STL

I admit, we could very well lose 3 of our next 4 games though and end up being 3-5 after Denver. After that though, we get SEA, OAK, and NE in Miami, then go to STL. I see 4 straight wins there. Riding a 4 game winning streak going to Toronto to play BUF could be HUGE.

Anyways....back to the point of the post I think we already beat a legitimate team. So far, we are 1-1 against 2 of the 4 hardest teams on our schedule and 1-1 against the teams in the middle of the pack.

its definatly possibile and im saying we will go. If im wrong itll suck but id rather believe in this team than not. Now im not second guessing anyones loyalty we all see the fins in deifferent ways i get that , but after the last few years i think we deserve to get a little ****y and big headed.

Ignore the negative or so called realistic thoughts of our chances at making the Playoffs.
Enjoy the ride my friend I sure in hell know I am!

I would like to see how we do against den, balt, hou, buf, ne, nyj, and sea before I start contenplating playoffs, and also we really need to sweep the back end of the schedule as well. I dont want to diminish your optimism because I love it, but playoffs are alot of work away for us right now. We are 2-2, alot of football left yet before we can talk playoffs.

I think it's very possible, but right now I'm more concerned with the Texans than the playoffs.

well Im pleased to be .500 for the first time in a while but its a long season and not every team is as banged up as SD and Ne were when we beat them. Great victories. This team will go as far as our oline can carry them. Just remember with the exception of the rookie lineman we have not lost one major cog due to injury. Ne was missing the best Qb in the league, SD was missing one of the best pass rushers in the league.

As I said before teh NE game...Anything's POSSIBLE but I don't think we'll get there. It would be great if we did, but I'm not putting any hopes on it. We'll see. This Texans game is very important to me to see what kind of team this is. A good team muscles the ball down the field to bleed the clock and, win the game like we did last week. Good teams beat people they should beat. We should beat the Texans. I'm withholding judgement.

Because our past two wins have involved a not so routine formation. IMO, it will a take a few wins without the wildcat.

A win is a win.

Just like when Brett Farve was being sacked and he threw up a duck that his receiver caught for a touchdown.

Just like a kickoff or punt return for a touchdown.

Just like a long pass interference penalty putting the ball on the one yard line.

Its all played between the lines and anything goes. Its just not traditional.

I think 4 things legitimize this team as a viable playoff contender:

1. The win vs. NE
2. The win vs. SD
3. The extremely weak schedule
4. The loss to the NYJ

What I mean by #4 is simple. Go back and watch that game if you have it Tivo'd or taped. The simple fact is, Mia should have won that game. At the time we all watched it, we expected failure and accepted loss as we have come accustomed to, without much of an after-thought. If we played that same game this coming week, and the exact same things happened, it would absolutely nauseate you. The lucky Favre TD, the interference call, the fact we had the ball in scoring position as the clock wound down... etc, etc

This team has holes, but it is currenlty a viable contender - 100%.
