I'm having a hard time understanding why anyone is miffed about this Daunte thing. Let me break it down for you. We put ALL our eggs in the Daunte basket last year. He wasn't as well as we thought. We gave him a LOT of money. Now here we are a year later, and we're supposed to AGAIN put all of our eggs in the Daunte basket? On top of that, the head coach doesn't like him for our system? Why would we do that again?

This is a business people. We're not going to spend millions on this guy just to keep him on the roster. Also, we've now made a commitment to Trent Green and John Beck. Those are our guys the starter and the future starter in waiting. How does keeping Culpepper around help them in their roles? It just simply doesn't.

Oh but Daunte grew up a big Dolphins fan. Oh but Daunte's worked so hard! Who cares?!?!?!?!?! Daunte's worked so hard to come back because that's where he gets his money from.........Football! He can't think his way out of a wet newspaper so he works harder than most to get him back to starting shape. At the end of the day, I don't think he cares whether he's a Dolphin, a Raven, a Jet or whatever. He just wants to play and make a lot of money doing it.

Trust me, Daunte will be just fine.

You all need to butch up and get over it. What did he do as a Dolphin to inspire such loyalty? Get sacked 24 times in 4 games?

I don't need it broken down for me, I feel the way the situation was handled was wrong. If you feel differently that's your opinion, you're welcome to it.

If you didn't need it broken down, then why not stop reading at the "let me break it down for you" part.....??????

Keep in mind, there are always 2 sides to the story. Maybe Cam tried to talk to Daunte before he went on the field and Daunte didn't like what he was hearing and he went out on the field anyway? He seems bullheaded like that.

Look, I'm not a Culpepper fan and always thought that bringing him to Miami was a mistake. That being said, even I think the handling of his situation Friday was wrong. No matter what I think of Duante this should have been handled with more class.

I did.

You're right, keeping Culpepper around doesn't help... now. But keeping him around BEFORE the Dolphins knew they had Trent Green sure seemed to be a good idea. You can't blame Miami for making the upgrade at QB, I'm sure even Daunte understands that. I just think this whole situation could have been handled better. No team is going to take on Daunte's contract in a trade. Daunte is un-willing (like it or not, that's his choice) to re-negotiate his contract, and essentially he's now a free agent. It's time to cut bait and move on. Don't get me wrong, I love my 'Phins and I'm happy we landed Green. Right or wrong, the team did and said things through out this process with their own best interests in mind. How could we not expect Daunte to do the same?

Folks are "miffed" by how the Fins are handling this situation. Cam-Mule have handled nearly everything (from a PR viewpoint) very well so far until Green was actually acquired. Cam said that he couldn't evaluate Cpep until he saw him play/participate with the team...now that he can, Cam doesn't want him in camp ?? Now, you tell me does that seem right to you ?? Saying one thing and doing another...

Look, I and most of us don't blame Cam-Mule for not wanting to have the division of 2 veteran QBs in camp, that's fine...if so, get rid of him...

I also have disdain for the way Cpep is handling this...Geez, we all get excited when Punk Drew spews to the press, well this is no different than what Cpep is doing. Cpep needs to handle this like a man. He came here with a new contract, costing a 2nd round pick and injured. He has not been able to be healthy enough to be effective, even tho we've paid him his salaries and bonuses (irregardless of the fact that contractually we had to), and now Cam feels it's not in the best interest of the team to move forward with Cpep. He's mad because he feels he should get that chance and won't allow us to recoup even some of what we paid for him by refusing to renegotiate his contract. Well, boo hoo hoo for him...

Here's a message: Cpep, be a man, take the high road and allow both sides to recoup something from this mess. Even if you feel Cam-Mule didn't live up to all their words, they certainly have not treated you poorly...

DC vs the Dolphins almost equal to DC vs. Vikings.

Great post Larry. :cooldude:

fact of the matter is that the dolphins gave him a chance by giving up a second rounder for a guy that should have only been worth a 2nd day pick, because of his former pro-bowl season. At this point C-pep needs to thank the phins for showing that much faith in him a year ago when no one else wanted anything to do with him. The best way to say thanks would be if C-pep agreed to a trade or restructed his contract for league min and we all know that won't happen.

Some of us feel bad for and can even sympathise for Culpepper. Look at the interviews with Zach and Jason Talyor - They both feel the same. They feel bad he's leaving even though he put in a lot of effort. Everyone is entitled to feel for the guy...what's the big deal? Why make it an issue for people to express that? are you critizing Zach and JT for feeling bad for Culpepper too? Give it a rest!

What handling? What, we're supposed to let him work out and risk injuring himself so we're stuck paying his salary? To hell with that. What loyalty do we owe him? I can think back of many moments as a dolphins fan that bring a smile to my face, Culpepper isn't in any of those moments. He did nothing for this team. He is not the QB of this team. He's going to be off this team. To hell with him, honestly, why do you care? He's a millionaire who wouldn't give a rats arse about you probably, so why do you care about him. As far as I'm concerned, he was a bust, and he's not a miami dolphin anymore, nor did he do anything but make a bunch of money to ride a stationary bike and disappoint us. Good riddance Culpepper...

:yeahthat:

We basically paid the guy 5 mil so he could rehab. We dont owe him anything!! He should be a little more understanding (it is a business) and allow us to get whatever we can get for him (if anything). Instead he's being a spoiled little kid about the whole situation by refusing to work with us. DC is a punk. The sooner he is gone the better!!!
