Why are the Dolphins still on lockdown mode this morning? 3/12

Darlington just restated that the Dolphins were on lockdown with Joe Rose. I'm not trying to be a smartass, just really would like an explanation of why the Dolphins would do this if they were not having contact with Peyton in any way? What would be the point?

To save face? Wouldn't it be better to say we are not interested and prepare for free agency? wouldn't that save face more efficiently? We can move on and concetrate on Flynn or whoever and bow out of the circus.

By staying in lockdown mode, the Dolphins give the impression that something is happening ( why would you if there wasn't) so it's tantamount to publicly saying we are courting Manning.

Maybe this and Maybe that.

I can't believe we are talking about 'impression' here. You and others may like the soap opera effect this is having. But maybe, just maybe this FO has plan, and are in the process of executing it. It just might not be the plan you want.:idk:

It's simple to me. Condon is in talks with all the teams Peyton likes to milk every last dollar out of the team Peyton really wants to go to.

It's all about leverage.

For ONCE the Dolphins are being smart and keeping their mouths shut and business in house.

Smartly no leaks, no leads, no nothing. Ross, Ireland, or Philbin could've all been on the phone to manning already this morning as far as anyone else knows!

I like it. Let the speculation fly. I am sure that no matter what people are reporting, there is a lot of planning going on. With Manning or someone else.
I agree. I hope that at the very least, IF Peyton indeed has no interest in Miami, has no plan to meet with Ross or Ireland, and is truly down to Arizona and Denver, that Peyton or his agent does Miami the courtesy (Not that he's obligated) of calling and telling them that so that they can move on in their Free Agent targets and not hold them up in going in the direction they need to go. I agree with you that no matter what, keeping it in house and keeping all their cards close to the vest i the smartest thing.

I just don't get why Manning would be back in Miami right now unless he planned to speak with the Dolphins....he certainly has other places he could go to avoid the madness if he wanted.

might be a blessing in disguise.im not sure how the dolphins arent making contact with him if they realize he can help the team or even how if hes on miamis list of suitors he all of a sudden doesnt even visit.something fishy here.

A physical visit is not required, for the reasons mentioned. He knows all about the Dolphins facility, no reason to walk the halls of a building he walked in for 2 weeks or more.

I am still sticking with my theory that Miami is still the front runner, has been in contact with Manning illegally for a while now, and Manning went and visited a few places to see what they have to offer and show face in order to not get Miami in trouble with tampering. It only makes sense as to why Miami and Manning haven't "publicly" or "officially" set up a meeting and why they are being to quiet. But it's just my theory.

Miami is on "lockdown?" Is there a guy with a gun in their facility?
