Has anyone heard anything that even sounds remotely a reason as to why neither of these qb's seem to be in the mix to hardly even play anymore.
Beck goes in just to handoff in mopup time and MCCOWN HAS NOT SEEN ANY action in the last two weeks. Seems like we may go with only two qb's or sign someone else just from the look of things. I have never seen two guys get this ignored that were in the mix to start just two weeks ago. This is not a smack thread so lets please keep this close to being on topic. Im tired of the silly drama everytime someone broaches this subject.

Well, we already know what McCown brings. And we don't want Beck to get injured before we trade him.

Why because that strategy worked so well in the Daunte Culpepper situation lol. Seems dumb to try to hide your qb but who knows.
Does not bode well for either player .

With Pennington arriving after the first preseason game(Well sort of, he didn't play in Week 1), they needed to see what Pennington had. They were able to watch Beck and McCown in practice already.

Then it became pretty clear that Pennington was the starter and Henne was the #2. That is why they played pretty much all the game last night. Third and Fourth string QBs really don't seem to get much playing time in preseason.

Game 4 is really just a waste of a game as teams rest their starters and only play backups. I think Henne will start the game and get the majority of the snaps. I do also think Beck and McCown will each get a quarter to play.

You must admit this is something u dont usually see.
The third guy usually gets at least a quarter. I just want to know what the coaches have not seen in Beck that makes them so ready to give up on him or make Henne the guy so fast over him. I have not been a big Beck fan like some here but even I did not forsee him falling down the radar this far.

They obviously must be seeing something in practice. Beck looked shaky in the first preseason game and doesn't seem to have his confidence anymore. Henne looked composed and really moved the team last week against Jacksonville.

as said earlier, since chad needed more time to get comfortable with the system, they gave him the bulk of the time, henne well maybe they truely are grooming him to be the number 2 atm.

I think we see beck and mck for 1/2 each in the final preseason game, winner gets to stay.

He is garbage. Fumbles snaps way too frequently. He is 27 years old already. Looks gun shy in the pocket. Just not condusive to being a good QB in the NFL.

In TS presser earlier this week he said that he has seen both Beck and McCown throw more passes then Pennington and Henne. He said he's seen Beck throw 500 passes while compared to only 170 or so from Henne due to Beck being here and Henne not. Beck has a problem holding onto the ball, I think that more then anything will earn him a bus ticket out of town. I still think Beck has a boatload of talent, but his problems only he can fix. I want the Dolphins to win, not Beck or Henne or Pennington. Do your job and earn a spot, bottom line.

feel the pain reral cool moving pictures there , wow thats some wild work

but i would answer this message by saying who makes more money, it comes down to dollars who stays

When Pennington was signed McCown became expendable. They have probably seen enough of beck to feel comfotable with him as a 3rd stringer. Pennington and Henne needed more work as #1 and #2 for the season. McCown will be held for insurance or dumped after the season starts. Not fair to him but thats the NFL.

I heard that too but it just seems they dont want to play him much at all. After he is traded or cut or not I would love to hear a reason for his fall from grace. I knew when we drafted Henne it was not just in case but still I expected more to be seen than this. In practice it must be pretty obvious to the coaches.

They want to give Pennington as many snaps as possible so he could catch up. They also want to give Henne alot of snaps, because come the regular season, he will not be getting as much. We have seen what Beck and McCown have done. I do agree though it is the first time I have seen something so blatant as this.

I think they wanted to get Penny a lot of work and they really thought Henne might be able to handle the backup roll. So they only let them play. To me, they found out that Henne is human and will sit him at #3 and let either Beck or McCown be the backup.

Expect to see Beck and McCown to get a lot of snaps this last game.

This is a really good question. One would have expected giving Beck more than mop up time if they were going to give him time at all. I do wonder, if the fumble hadn't happened on his first 3rd down (I don't blame him for that specific fumble) followed by another fumble on his next series, we would have seen more of him. I know we got the ball back on TOs as well, but perhaps losing those 2 series on fumbles limited what Beck could show more than was intended.
