Does anyone know why we don't see guys like Pennington or Ronnie Brown on the sidelines during games. Watching the Bears the other night I noticed Urlacher exhorting his team. Is this a team rule or something.

they usually are at home games. considering browns injury its probably not a good idea for him to be standing on the sidelines near the action.

Not sure about home games. But i believe its team policy players on IR don't travel with the team.

It is a team policy that they do not have injured players on the field during games. This came up earlier in the year when Pennington first went down.

Superstition, they don't want players reminded of what can happen while they are putting their bodies on the line.

It's a TS policy that he does not allow injured players on the sideline. I don't like it, I think Pennington would have been a great help to Henne on the sideline.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of this rule either. Almost feels like they are punishing the players for putting their bodies on the line.

Plus Pennington has a great mind for the game. Hell, he learned our playbook in like 4 days.

Sparano has answered this question many times in regards to the team policy.

Smiley, Donald Thomas and Camarillo were talking about tailgating in the parking lot and going to the playoff game against baltimore like they were regular fans in the stands. Said they weren't allowed to be on the sidelines or in the locker room before the game

team policy

it is a rlly stupid policy in my opinion. these ppl r part of the team, and just bc they are hurt dosent mean they shouldnt be able to chear on there team on the sidelines amongst their fellow teammates.
