Why Are We Even Bringing Free Agents???

The guy has a point. They keep on bringing guys that seem like they'd make sense for us and the players always end up elsewhere. If you want to build thru the draft then fine. But don't say you're going to do this and then do that. Misleading other teams about who we might want is one thing but lying to the whole fan base is another. I love Philbin so far but is hard to trust the guys at the top right now.

This is the second wave of free agency. The guys left need to realize that they're not going to get the money they thought they were.

Mark Anderson signed and for almost 7 million per year. Thats a lot of dough for someone that had 4 down years before this past season.

Rumor is Jake Scott wants 5 million per. Both sides are interested in getting a deal done and are still talking.

It's all about money. Miami has very little and are hoping some of these guys come down on their asking price

Well said mate. We only have around $7 million of cap space and so the FO are bringing in free agents in the hope of persuading them to sign for slightly less than perceived market value. Some may call it "low balling", but when you have little cap space you need to be pragmatic about how much you offer free agents.

why dont they resign jake long and get some salary cap relief? why not restructure some other contracts to get more money for a player like jake scott? he has been rated among the best guards in the league for a while now! but no, we're up against the cap with a mediocre team thats missed the playoffs 3 years in a row. money well spent!
