Whats the deal..We are the worst team in the NFL....

we have to be able to afford that 1st overall pick. good grammer

What's with the double negative?

But either way, you have to have people willing to sign in order to sign them. Look at what we offered Pace. Look what he signed for. Do you really think $2 million in guaranteed money was so much more attractive to him, or do you think a huge amount of cash plus the chance to win is why he's not holding up an aqua and orange jersey?

i am fine with what we have now i think we just need to go into the draft and do the rest there

Have you not ever heard of building through the draft? I mean, forget what successful teams such as the Pats and Steelers and Giants have done. I mean, what have they done lately anyways.

No Offense, but we have way to many wholes to fill. The draft can fill about 7 or 8 of those wholes. The Family needs to sign a good 3 or 4 more players. I think our next signing will be Marques Douglas since we really seem to be after him.

We are rebuilding, the real superstars are found in the draft not in free agency.

Last I check it is only day 4 of free agency. Yes, building through the draft is the main route to go, but it doesn't mean we are done in free agency.

The first few days are for the top tier players and the huge contracts. With that portion of FA coming to an end, teams will now start focusing on the second and third tier players which is part two of free agency. This part will last between now and the draft. We are not going to be handing out anymore 5+ year deals worth $20+ million, but we will be able to hand out smaller deals to some lesser known free agents. Don't think that we won't. Smiley likely won't be the last free agent offensive lineman added, and there will probably still be some movement to help out the secondary.

We won't be signing/trading for 8 players in one day, but you may see a few more names being signed over the next week or so.

The double negtive in your topic actually holds true. Miami has signed many players, hence "not signing nobody" as you so eloquently typed it.

Good post, Nub. Was going to say the same thing.

Though Antwan Odom intrigues me; wonder if we go after him now as a 3-4 OLB?

We haven't yet signed enough free agents, that is the truth. We should have and probably still will bring in at least two more FA offensive linemen and hopefully a couple more FA defensive linemen. Building through the draft is the long-term way to go, but if we don't sign some more free agents, we won't even be able to field a viable team, even with our draft picks.
