As a big Ginn fan I admit now he will probably never be a great wide out but why in the hell are we not using him as our kick returner which is why he was drafted at #9 to begin with.

Why are we not using him as a special purpose running back in the wildcat/hog offense? Say what you want about his wide out abilities but speed is speed and he has it but we do not use it at all. He is a bust wide out at this point hopefully that will change but I doubt it but his speed has never been utiltized and I dont understand why.

What speed? Ginn is a joke....what has he done....I've seen late round receivers....undrafted receivers do more in less time. He can't make anyone miss him...even on one on one's.

What a wasted draft pick!

I think everybody is wondering why he's not returning kicks. My best guess is the fact that he almost never breaks tackles. Fumbling his lone return against the Chargers didn't help his case either. Speed is a great attribute but it doesn't matter if you go down on first contact almost every time.
As for his speed. He has excellent top end speed but it seems like he lacks that intial burst. He's not very physical and hasn't had much success when given the ball in space. He won't be much of a deep threat this year either with Pennington's lack of arm strength.
I'm not mad at the coaching staff for not playing him. I'm sure they want the best players out there and if Ginn was truly outperforming Bess, then he'd be returning kicks. I think its on Ginn's shoulders. If he can't beat out an undrafted FA, he doesn't deserve playing time.

Thank Godness the old-timers get it and aren't blinded by 4.3 speed like these kids these days.

I'm just curious when he has gotten the ball in space this season. Getting thrown the ball at the line of scrimmage with a man in his face is not in space.

He hasn't had many chances but he has had some. I was mainly thinking of last season. In reality, it's his own fault for rarely being open.

You have no idea if he's been open or not. The one game that I went to he had no problem getting off the line or getting space. TV camera angles show nothing. Trash his lack of ability breaking tackles or making jukes but judging his ability to get open is based on no evidence.

He never really has gotten the ball in space and many times he has gotten the ball its either at the line of scrimmage of 5-10 yards up the field on a play he has to run backwards to make the catch.

The fact that he's rarely open...is enough for me! Open receivers get the football....how come Camarillo gets open...but Ginn can't? Did the corners while he played in college play off of him by 20 yds? Every week the Dolphins play...I see at least one receiver I say...sure wish we had someone like him on our team.

Because Camarillo plays in the slot wr position and close to the line of scrimmage maybe? Not quite sure why this is not an easily noticed facet of the offense but the slot wr, te, and rbs are the guys who get the ball 90% of the time on passing plays. Ginn plays neither of these positions and only time he really is even a factor in chad's view is when he runs his short route (like in Chargers game) or catches ball at line. I mean if you want to say he's never open, thats fine, but at least try to see that he really isn't too good of a fit for our current offense (which begs question why won't they even let him return kicks).

If he's open, they'd be throwing it to him more often. When they do throw it to him he usually has guys draped all over him. Has Ginn had a single play where he's gotten more than 5 yards after the catch? I can't remember one. As soon as someone gets a hand on him he goes down. Why do people keep making excuses for him? Do you think Sparano is trying to sabotage his career or something? How would the Fins benefit from that?

we cant use his speed because pennington cant throw down field

I agree although I think the oline is also responsible. Our wide receivers rarely have time to let their deep routes develop because the oline usually lets the pocket collapse too quickly.

Pennington went to 9 different players yesterday. Ginn needs to run better routes to create separation. What.... we can only use Ginn for the fly route? Doesn't sound like a #1 WR to me. I'm more pissed they took him off of ST duties.
