See what I did there with the title? Funny stuff right?

Now on to serious business...

The Raiders are AWFUL. In every sense of the word they are AWFUL. They have three good players last time I counted. Maybe 4 if you count Burgess.

They don't do anything right. Their owner is the ex-host of Tales from the Crypt.

Yes, this guy:

Yet we decided to go and pickup two of their castoffs. I agree Wilson can be good. Grove is questionable. I mean I get it his last name is Grove and this is Florida where there are orange groves, but other than that I see no reason.

We also overpaid for Grove. We could have just ponied up a tad bit more to get Brown who is three years Grove's Junior, and I think we can all agree a playmaker on the O-line.

So why did we raid the Raiders?

how you say... tuna ..jk look i think they want to run the ball down others throats lets hope they get javon springer and get up by 3tds as much as possible.... ronnie and javon. rickys washed up. and im a big fan of ricky but hes not the ricky of old....

to be fair, the Raiders have 1 elite player (Aso) 2 rising stars (Morrison and Howard), and several potential studs (Russell, Miller, Fargas, McFadden). Wilson is a good player, Grove is questionable though. Never thought of him as great, but he seemed to have a decent year last year

they beat the Jets and they gave us a game

they are not as bad as we think

are you gonna brand individual players as losers because of one man's insanity?

As sorry as the Raiders have been....their rush offense was 10th last year and 6th the year before....and that was with the worst QB play in the league. The center is a HUGE part of that success. This guy has the goods and came out of the draft as the top center prospect and with massive strength.

Asomougha, Morrison & Williams, Derrick Burges, Justin Fargas, Zach Miller, Ganakowski and Mcfadden to name a few. The Raiders are loaded with talent, unfortunately the coaching is horrible and Russell could be a bust. The Raiders are a talented team with no coaching or direction.

the Raiders is a horribly run organization with people doing stupid things. its been a mess for a long time, but doesn't mean that players that are on or were on are horrible, or bad players. they are jsut in a horrible situation there in Oakland.

Gibril Wilson example.... Super Bowl starting Safety the year before.... Randy Moss??? hello!!! great secondary used to play there together for a while (they hd a horrid running defense)... solid RB's re there (not so good passing attack and o-line)...

i'll take good players that fit in with us and are worthy (or will work to become worthy)

You're much more likely to find an undiscovered gem or undervalued player from a bad franchise. Good franchises develop and retain their talent, and their players don't fly under the radar. The worst signings in free agent history have been players who were overpaid coming off a Superbowl team (Larry Brown)

Parcells loves offensive linemen (just look at the cash we have spent on them in the last 2 off-seasons) so I am sure he sees something in Grove. I know very little about him myself, so I cannot give my opinion. I trust Parcells to hire guys that can get it done so I will reserve my judgement until a few games into the season. Then we can judge by how well we are running the ball between the tackles.

Lets be patient and wait and see...

Have you even watched Grove play? And I mean in-depth research on his play. Read the Jake Grove Film Review thread. Awesome, in-depth analysis. May change your mind about this move, though I'm not thrilled with the contract numbers.

Let's not forget, there were many people on this board clamoring for Grove in the 2004 draft. It's not his fault he was drafted by a crappy team. He has untapped potential written all over him. Lets reserve judgement on the guy until we see him play, rather than post uninformed threads.

we took 2 needs off of the draft board

we can spend picks on a CB and another pass-rusher

invaluable

Because as long as that senile old-man Davis in charge of the Raiders, they are going to continue to make stupid decisions salary cap-wise and have some of their best players scooped up by other teams.

i didnt fully check the contract details, but we are so set money wise for now, there no worries there.... but basically this signing seems to give us more possabilities to look at and to work with on the o-line... definitely fills depth if anything.

plus i believe we definitely are going to draft a lineman in the draft, prob 2, too add to all this.

i worried about what i heard on Grove injury wise... but the way Parcells is if Grove is constantly hurt and not practicing/playing, i bet he gone!!!

people said we were horrible, awful, terrible with only a few good players in 2007
