It seems that the general consensus is that Saban's departure is bad for us. Granted, it does feel like we got backstabbed but I don't think it's that big of a deal. Nick Saban is not a demigod, he's not a Hall of Fame NFL coach and never will be, so why are we acting like we lost Bill Belichik?

We got 2 subpar seasons from the guy, who cares?
 
Good point. I'm not that upset. Saban wasn't going to get Miami into the playoffs. Saban is built for college football - good for him. Miami needs a coach that cares most about winning championships in the NFL. Who will that be? I guess we will find out.

It makes me mad because of how Saban played us. Wayne gave him everything and when he made a couple of bad descisions he skips town so he dosen't have to pay for it. Now we are no better than we were two years ago and have like 4 yrs of rebuilding ahead. I'm starting to think we are the new Cincinatti Bengals.
 
It's upsetting that as fans we placed our trust in Saban and he totally punked us. Upset about him off the team? Absolutely not. We were all stumbling around this year wondering what happened to our Super Bowl hopes. It's been made absolutely clear that Saban was one of the problems. Getting rid of him is the best thing for the dolphins. If we're going to have a coach go 15-17 I'd rather he not be an *******.

i just like reading all the Saban is a loser/failure/weasel/idiot threads that get made!

It bothers me, because I really felt that Saban was a good coach..

But on the other hand, now I'm kinda excited about the offseason.. It should be interesting :)
 
Saban would have been fired next year after another dismal season under the Culpepper/Harrington/Lemon regime.

We move on and bring in the right guy.

I agree that he was a good coach. It just didn't work out.
 
It doesn't bother me one bit in terms of the coach we lost. It just scares the beejesus out of me that wayne could likely fall back to the default position of promoting mularkey -- which would be a freakin disaster. I have no idea why he's still anything more than a coordinator's assistant and he may very well be our next coach. That's what scares me.

I overheard that Wayne is actually looking for feedback on the situation from fans and media at the moment. If we make enough noise, he might listen. And I agree, Mularkey is a terrible option and there probably isn't a single fan out there who wants him at HC.
 
I'm glad he's gone now, actually.

It wasn't the lying, it was the fact that he wasn't even man enough to show up for the press conference himself and Wayne had to do it.
 
Yeah I'm in agreemnet on that. I'm glad in a way that saban's loyalty (or lack there of) has been flushed out and dealt with. The truth is even if he decided to stay, he's shown these last 48 hours that he wasn't 100% committed to thsi team -- so who the F needs him.
 
I'm happy as hell...Now get a coach with assistants
with a clue.... Final thoughts regarding the NEW and IMPROVED head coach better not be Mularkey because I will find it almost impossible to route for this team while an imbecile ruins it!!!
