Why are we whining over a QB who signed for peanuts to compete with T. Jackson, why?

you guys do realize that the only reason that richard marshall came here was cause zona wouldn't match...he said so himself...

What "tape"? You mean the TV feed?

Seriously, stop with the "watch tape/film" on a player. Unless you're with an NFL team, NFL Network, or NFL Matchup, you're not getting anything that any other fan can't get. And there's simply little knowledge to gain from it besides statistical - even for "skill" players, on which the camera is usually on.

Tell me, what plays were called (on both O and D) in *any* of Flynn's games played? Hell, I'd be satifisfied with one. Use whatever terminology you like; just make sure to justifiy it with video. I'll save you some time: there's no way to tell, because you can't make out the routes of every receiver (sometimes, not even of one) and it goes double for the D. Hard to make out the blocking assignments without an endzone look, too. And I'll make the relevance of my question clear: it's hard to criticize a QB for a "bad pass" without knowing the backstory.

FWIW, I didn't like the idea of signing Flynn to a blockbuster deal. But to use the "tape" argument... I just think it's weak.

I think by now coach Philbin is familiar with Matt Flynn and has studied plenty of game and practice tape on him. Philbin's full-on endorsement of Flynn would have ensured that he was a Dolphin. Obviously he was heavily prorated by our resident Flynn expert such that he is now the next hopeful QB in Seattle. I don't know what the QB solution is, but I trust our new coach to get this one right; just like I trust our new OC to know the exact value of Ryan Tannehill.

You forgot to mention that GM is i charge of the draft not philbin or Sherman. IF smith is signed all may be corrected.

I prefer to think of it as a team effort, since their butts are all on the line together. I do not believe the FO will fail to work side by side with their new coaching staff.

Yes, but that has nothing to do with my quote. McMichael argued that people who wanted Flynn never watched "tape" of him, and implied he had, and it didn't look good. My point is that he didn't watch "tape" so much as the TV feed, which shows little of value for analysis purposes.

Also, there is the posibility that Flynn was heavily endorsed by Philbin but Ireland simply didn't (or couldn't) offer him a better deal.

Philbin was not going to risk his first coaching opportunity and hitch himself to Flynn. Wise move.

Alex Smith is definitely using the Fins as leverage against SF. He will eventually re-sign with them.

We are looking for a back up to Moore at this point. Moore is clearly the starter because there are no more options.

It is looking more likely that we will reach for Tannehill. I hope we don't and just wait until next year to get a QB.

We need to draft play makers on offense this season. TRich...WR's..exciting players.

Just sign another bum like Gerrard to back up Moore, and snore through the season.
