Why arent we looking at Jared Allen?
Chiefs News:

DE Jared Allen - It appears the Chiefs will not use the exclusive franchise tag on Allen, which would restrict his ability to negotiate a long term contract with another team. The Chiefs can then match any offer, and in the event they should decline, will receive 2008 and 2009 first-round picks from the team that signs him. To our knowledge there have been no significant contract talks between Allen’s agent, Ken Harris, and KC’s front office.

The simple answer is that Jared Allen will be just too expensive. Aside from that, I'd expect the Chiefs will franchise him, there's no way they'll let him test the open market.

He isn't the most coquetish person to look at either!!!

What makes you think we're not looking at him ? Look, even tho we have a few bucks to spend in FA and we have multiple needs, it doesn't mean that we'll get every FA there is...

When the FA period begins, we can look but right now, we can't contact most of these guys until March 1...(beginning of FA period).

IF Allen hits the FA market, he has a chance to be the TOP paid FA out there, period. With the Giants shutting down Brady and Co. largely due to front 4 pressure, Gms are salivating at the prospect of getting nasty pass rushers, and they dont get much more than Allen. Sacks are sacks and his total speaks for itself. Id simply say he will be to expensive to sign for a team with to many holes. Not sure if he is suited to be a Parcells type 3-4 player either, I really havent checked his physical stats, but something to keep in mind.
And I just dont buy the Chiefs letting him go, Ill believe it when I see it.

Oh man I they don't tag him we should sign him and Go 4-3.

DE:Jason Taylor DT: Dorsey DT: Vonnie Holiday : Jared Allen that would be nice lol but it won't happen.

Dude is trouble off the field. Don't want him. I listen to 610 sports in KC and the talk is they don't want to pay him. One more DUI and he is toast. The Chiefs aren't confident he can stay out of trouble.

Simply dude wants to much cash. He's a really good player wanting a great players money.

He has cleaned up his act. He doesn't drink anymore. There was a whole article written on ESPN's NFL front page.

If he cleaned up his act, why is he opening up a sports bar in KC? He likes to drink - he said it himself. All the fluff he says now he said after his first DUI. Dude is a bad apple.
