In 3 of our 6 games this year, Ronnie has 0 receptions. He only has 9 altogether. Why don't we utilize him in the passing game more? He's one of the better pass-catching RB's in the league and we are starving right now for another option in the passing game. Throw him the ball and allow him to make plays down field! We put the ball in his hand a lot already but I think we'd be better off trying to get it to our best player even more!

we really have never fully utilized him in the passing game. it is kind of odd, i would love to see us implement the screen game a little more in our offense especially with teams not respecting our ability to throw the ball and bringing the heat. although i know we did use it a few times in the last few weeks, i hope to see more of it

good question. we seem to have no problem throwing it to ricky - whose hands aren't nearly as good.

In the first 6 and a half games of 2007 before Ronnie's injury, he had almost 400 yards receiving in those games.

That's a very high average for a rb.

He convinced me then that he can be a real threat catching the ball. He was very good at it when he was used that way, on top of his rushing ability.

I really don't know why he isn't being used more that way. Look at the Colts, They line up their backs in the slot, motion to the backfield, and vice versa confusing defenses.

They sometimes have two backs on the field at the same time, motioning one with both going out for patterns. They cross them up with their TE or their receivers sometimes, leaving guys wide open.

I wish our offense was that smart.

Because our backs are always pass blocking on passing plays. He's a good pass blocker.

Same with our TEs. We need extra blockers against the pass rush. Our O-line consists of maulers in the run game but they're just not that great pass blocking.
