Why Bill Parcells's Position Should've Been Filled Immediately

A big name means nothing if you don't have any success. Parcells may be overrated, but wherever he went, he made bad teams much better. The Giants, Patriots, Jets, Cowboys, and Dolphins were all terrible before Parcells came to town.

Ya and the Dolphins are still terrible. The fact is he was only the head coach for those other teams, he didn't have complete control of those organizations. Its obvious he isn't a great personnel guy.

Parcells should have never been hired. He was only hired so WH could sell the team (before the scheduled capital gains tax increased of 2010 on his $800 million profit on the sale of the team). Parcells was just a big name to make it appear like the team was trending upward. Jerry jones used him to get a new stadium too. Parcells is an overrated tool.

Hindsight is always 20/20 isn't it...

belicheat came up under parcells, as did a number of other coaches around the league. sean peyton is also on that tree i beleive. nots ure about scott piolli but they are related as well. He took the pats to a SuperBowl and the jets to the AFC championship before rex did it. Dallas and Miami are ot complete success stories BUT they do have some good peices in place i.e. miles austin, romo, ETC ETC.

stop crying and bashing parcells. he turned our crap dead last team into contenders the very next year - so did Tony S.

pro - sports is overly fickle and "now!" just like everything else in this society now. Ross cut sparano's legs out from under him b/c he is a Goofy looking goon. He is trying to improve the fan experience but he also makes dumb moves.

Look - Ross will be fine as our owner. And mark my words - he will not fire ireland. he instructed him on what to do b/c he didnt beleive orton was our guy. Tony might have wanted him more. Ross clearly thought we had the personell in place to compete this year. He even said it in the offseason with the "close games" quotes.

Ross's plan was to not "mortgage" the future, he figured if tony sinks i can be rid of him ( i dont think ross really like sparano) and i'll keep my team intact by retaining ireland. i will bring in my own coach in and draft a QB high.

this is not a positive or negative move for ross - its just Ross. he wants to win but he doesnt know anything about football or ethics. he WILL spend money but will he give this team a good culture? who knows.

lol with these ppl saying we need a "hands on " coach. those re-tread guys never cut it. i want a modest hungry guy in here who motivates the players and plays with the pieces he has been given. enough with the "football messiahs" they dont exist. Cowher can take his grocery buying someplace else.

lol.. some of the folks here would have another modest hungry and inexperienced Cam, Tony or another WIP coach instead of a proven commodity. No thanks. We need a coach that knows the NFL game and can handle the players egos.

Going off on a tangent... What if...

Wayne H hired Ron Wolf or Ditka to fill the role Tuna would get instead of hiring Cameron?
