Last year, I staid up to late hours of the night watching Hawaii games. The program was amazing. The one player that always stood out was my boy, Davone Bess. No Matter in what trouble Colt was in he always had Bess to bail him out.

Bess has alot of great features, the guy can really get out of the snap and into routes quickly. The guy runs sharp, preciss routes; sells fakes well and shows quick burst out of cuts. He also has experience returning Punts, and I think this will help him make our ST. Bess also has stickem for hands and what he does after a catch is a thing of beauty. One of Bess best qualities is the way he blocks, he can really stick to his guy the whole way through. In order for the Run N Gun to work your Recievers have to Block and Bess can really lay a block. The guy is solid and amazing. Im almost positive he can beat out Hagan, who can't catch anything his way. If I had to compare Bess to anyone, it would be Wes Welker, because Bess just like worker can KR/PR and just about everything else. Add that to his amazing hands and If anyone has a chance of making this team it is Davone Bess. Im pretty sure he will.

Below are some of Bess Stats:
REC YDS AVG LNG TD
2005 HAW 89 1124 12.6 62 14

2006 HAW 96 1220 12.7 49 15

2007 HAW 108 1266 11.7 48 12

If you mean pretending to be the best receiver on the other team each week then yes. Practice squad baby!

Did anyone think Mark Clayton an 8th round draft choice had any chance to make the team in May of 1983?

Did anyone think Dan Marino picked 27th in the first round of the 1983 draft after four qbs were selected was going to be a hall of famer and unseat SuperBowl Quarterback David Woodley?

Imagine if Finheaven was around in 1983. Marino vs Woodley On one side there is the Marino lovers wanting an unproven rookie QB who had a horrible senior year to lead the Dolphins even though he was passed up by almost every team in the NFL. In the other camp the Woodley loyalists would throw out the stats that Woodley led the Fins to the Superbowl and deserved another full year to prove that he could take the Fins back to the Superbowl.

Davone Bess has a shot to make this team simply because we have so little talent at the WR position anyway

I guess since it's been about 25 years ago since we hit lighting in a bottle, maybe it's time. As far as woodley, he led us to as many super bowl's as marino. Sorry, I couldn't resist. What we all should be praying for is that Ginn turns out to be half as decent as clayton and duper, and not pin our hopes on Bess. Yes, as Dolphins fans we've been reaching on players since our Danny boy years. Unfortunately, we've come to a bitter realization that it's going to be a few, if not more years till we get back to respectability.

We do have little Talent at the WR position, but Bess has skills and a natural nack for the Ball. This guy is not an unknown comadity, Bess is real good and can do things that will make alot of you say, Holy ****!

Againsy Boise State Bess had a 181 yds with 2 TD, the guy has skills.

The few times i was able to catch a Hawaii game late on saturday nights, the guy who seemed to be always open for colt brennan was Bess...either on slants, ins, digs, pretty much anything over the middle...LBs and slower safeties will be eaten alive by the kid. And he caught damn near everything close to him...GREAT hands and concentration...

RECEIVING GP-GS No. Yds Avg TD Long Avg/G
---------------------------------------------------------
Davone Bess 13-13 108 1266 11.7 12 48 97.4
Ryan Grice-Mullen 13-13 106 1372 12.9 13 64 105.5
Jason Rivers 12-11 92 1174 12.8 13 72 97.8
C.J. Hawthorne 13-13 61 859 14.1 6 53 66.1

These are the stats for Hawaii receivers last year. Hmm...looks like the system to me. If pick Grice-Mullen next year, maybe we'll be saying the same things. Sorry if the formatting sucks.

Hagen Could Be In Trouble With Competition In Training Camp!! It Is Time For Him To Shine But, New Regime Want Except Dropped Balls As Frequently As Hagen Does! Davone Will Compete For A Reciever Position As Well As Special Teams . He Has Caught Alot Of Balls In His Career. Hope He Does Great!!!!!!!!!
Dont Blame Him For The System And Teams They Played!!!

Gryce Mcmullen was picked up by the Texans and Jason Rivers went to the Titans. The system, right! You guys forget, that the system is not about catching the ball in the open. In the Run N Gun you have to Block,Run after the Catch and run real real good routes. SO, how can you say it is all about the system.

Looks like the system made everyone on that Hawaii team look like all-stars. I just listed the top 4 guys on that team. There were 3 more receivers that caught a lot balls I didn't even list. I hope he's the answer really, but honestly even the top receivers picked in each draft take 3 years to develop. Most of the receivers don't make an impact in the first year. That's why I see him as practice squad receiver, learning the craft for a few years, then maybe he'll get a shot. You also have to realize this isn't the run and gun. It's gonna be run, run, run, and maybe one gun once in a while.
