Can anyone explain to me why Parker only had 87 targets for our supposed number 1 wide Receiver. Vs the Patriots he had 13 targets and produced with 8 catches for 106 yards, Vs the Chargers he had 8 targets and produced with 5 catches for 103 yards, Vs the Rams he had 10 targets and produced with 8 catches for 79 yards.
Devante Parker had a catch rate of 64% and an unreal drop rate of 1.2% to put things in perspective

OBJ catch rate is 59% with a 3.6% drop rate and was targeted 169 times
D. Hopkins catch rate is 51.7 with a 2.7% drop rate and was targeted 151 times
Ty Hilton catch rate is 58% with a 3.9% drop rate and was targeted 155 times
M. Crabtree catch rate is 61% with a 6.2 % drop rate and was targeted 145 times
Julio Jones catch rate is 64% with a 5.0 % drop rate and was targeted 129 times

Regardless of the advanced stats I'm not saying DVP is better than any of those guys but I am curious why the fins are not putting more effort in trying to get our best playmaker the ball.

Do you really not remember him being injured off and on all year? That, along with the fact he is still coming into his own (only his 2nd year...) and all those other guys are vets.

Granted, some are still young, but older than Parker still. And you threw the freak Julio in there who had a monster season.. that's not something to just routinely expect out of your "average alpha receiver" Parker may have some serious potential but there aren't many (if any) other guys on the level of julio

He was injured for Christ Sakes. And he played injured when he did play. He will get more looks this year dude, everything will be ok.

We need to see more dvp emphasis but dvp also needs to show gase he deserves them

Miami has a after this year 5th year option decision...i think its still an easy one to pick up but its adam gase he has to convince

Gase still felt Parker was good enough to start in the games he played and the reason I named those guys is because all of them played through injury the whole year but their teams still made sure to get the ball to their playmakers. The Fins wouldn't play Parker through injury unless they felt he could still produce at a high level.

Did you start watching and become a fan of the dolphins halfway through the season.

Honestly I think Bill Lazor offense utitilized him better, (during the draft process they thought he was a perfect fit for their offense) can someone tell Gase to draw up more slants for Devante.

I thought they threw the slant to him often. The three main plays were the slant, deep sideline and that screen from what I recall.

The injuries were part of it but like Hoops said he has to earn it and Im not sure Gase was thrilled with him at points during the season.

On to next year, hopefully a healthy and productive one for DVP.

The slant is one of his best routes and Tannehill is very accurate on that throw.

Let's give Gase some credit. He identified his underproducing young stars and left Ajayi and Parker at home for our first away game in week 1 of the Gase reign. Those guys have the talent to be great, and he requires them to be great.

Ajayi responded by becoming an excellent player, being better about ball security, becoming a decent pass blocking back, and giving us a successful run game on which to build.

Parker semi-respomded by working on his health and trying to improve the most important ability--availability.

When healthy, Parker straight beasted. If we can keep him consistently healthy he will become our unquestioned #1 and a truly feared receiver league-wide. But, he isn't there yet. Nagging injuries are preventing his ascent to greatness. If he gets over them and becomes more durable, the sky is the limit.

Our offense has the cornerstones in Tannehill, Tunsil, Ajayi, Parker and Landry. If those guys stay healthy, this offense can win a lot of games.

When can people admit to themselves that THUS FAR Parker has not been as good as people want him to be. Whether its injuries or wvr, he is not nearly as consistent as Landry or many other receivers. People keep equating his proven talent with his potential, and they arent the same thing. YET.

That offense was trash. Hamstring injuries are very hampering.. so it's not surprising he wasn't that effective
