OK, we know he fumbled a lot last year (7 times?), but why.

NOTE:
2006 1 fumble
2005 1 fumble
2004 couldn't find the data.

I think the line quit on him (he hadn't earned his spot). Your feelings?

Not sure any of those answers are correct. I know it was not the line quit on him. He fumbled but probably a variety of reasons. If he ever plays again for us we may or may not see that happen again.

OK, then what was the reason? He didn't fumble much in the previous two years, something changed, what was it? A statistical fluke?

Not only did the line quit on him (my vote), but he was a rookie. Give the man a break. He'll do a whole lot better this upcoming coming season.

Hate to tell you there is a big differance in the MWC and the NFL. What changed was actual NFL players coming at you, actual NFL corners covering your recievers.

Well I guess we should just cut Carey and Satale since they just quit on Beck. His fumbles had nothing to do with the line quitting on him, now the line played a factor because they were not awesome but this is just another case of people blaming Beck's mistakes on everyone else.

I think his nerves just got the best of him. It's a lot harder to hold on to the ball or do anything when you're nervous. After a few of those fumbles he was probably even thinking about having or needing to hold on to the ball which is definitely not good. A confident player doesn't worry about fumbling the ball because he just never thinks it's gonna happpen because he knows how to hold it and what to do with it.

Hmm he had a 4 to 1 int ratio as a senior , I wonder why he had a 1 to 3 ratio in the NFL. Hmm he completed almost 69 percent of his passes as a senior and only 56 percent in the NFL.

what does his college stats including fumbles have to do with what he does in the pros.

I wouldn't go that far. The line may not of quit on him, but they quit as a whole. The line the first half of the season was 10x better then the second half. I think a few of the fumbles were curtious of the line, but even on those plays he should of held onto the ball. Beck just looked like he was scared and clueless when he played. He sucked, plain and simple, but at the same time no one in the history of the game could of done much better with what Beck had to work with. No WR, TE, or RB makes a QB's job next to impossible.

All I know is if Beck can't beat out McCown this is going to be a painfull year of watching our QB. :bong2: Here is to hoping Beck can lead our team for a couple of years and then hopefully Henne will turn out to be our future.

Calm down gold-dlockz, I'm not challenging your position, I asking you to take one and vote. Jeeezz.

BTW did we have receivers last year? I didn't notice any.

Combination of bad luck and freaking out. Some of the fumbles were just complete carelessness with the football.
