It was their defensive end, Leonard Little, and he didn't really "level" Pennington.

They showed a replay and it was clear that the whistle only blew a split-second before Little got to Pennington, and even still, Little let up and try to keep Pennington from hitting the ground hard. He also helped him up.

so if matt light would have knocked channin down from behind and helped him up it would have been ok?

The refs suck this year.. Can't wait till the playoffs and the refs make game decision calls and fans riot..

just dont think the NFL would have let tom brady get hit like that

Are you insinuating that Leonard was trying to fight Pennington or something?

Like I said, if you watch the replay, it was clear that the whistle blew a split second before Leonard reached Pennington, and all NFL players are taught to play until the whistle blows. Even still, it was clear that Leonard let up as best he could and did all he could to make sure that Pennington didn't take a bad shot.

Pennington was cool with it when Leonard helped him up, so I don't understand why anyone would make a big deal out of it.

But hey, if you folks want to make a mountain out of a mole hill, be my guest.

If it had been Brady, or Cassel, the same appropriate no-call would have been made on the field... but on Monday, after receiving a complaint from Boston, Little would end up suspended nevertheless.

Why is this even being brought up. Little didn't "Level" Pennington. He went to tackle him, then let up after he heard the whistle. He helped Penny up and they slapped helmets and went on with their business.

If anything, Little was being classy...

yea during live play i threw up my hands and was wtf? wheres the penalty?!?! but once they showed the replay he shouldnt have been one. refs didnt blow the whistle fast enough so little had very little time to stop, which he did try and pull up. nothing wrong with the play at all.

it's because Chad was wearing a dolphins uniform... if he was still in that pukkie green uniform he would have drawn the flag....

I don't think it was a cheap hit on Pennington, BUT..... as a lot of people said on this subject the whistle blew and Little tried to hold up sum... I have seen plays where defensive guys have launched themselves at the QB and hit them (and not helmet to helmet) and they get flagged now how does a player stop themselves in mid air???

I think Leonard tried his hardest no to hit Chad. The whistle blew a split second before they made contact, but Little definitely slowed down.
