Why did they call taunting on Tyreek

Tyreek has been flashing that peace sign for years and to my knowledge has never gotten called.
Everyone knows it.
To just decide to do it out of the blue today was an absolute crock, and that's not biased homerism.
If you plan on calling that after having let it slide for 2+ years (that I recall) then you have to warn the team ahead of time.
To blindside a team/player for something that's been ignored for that long is BS.
He was called for it before while with the chiefs

Edit

It wasn't flagged but should have been. Received a fine from the NFL.

Maybe I missed the explanation, everybody jumps in the stands and gives balls to folks. Was it for abusing their secondary

Don't know if I'm right, but I believe the NFL has a rule against 'excessive' celebration - part of that being how long the celebration is. Before the flag was thrown I was expecting a flag for delay of game.

These officials were brilliant compared to last nights Canes game. But that non PI call today was just unreal. They flag our corners all the time for the same thing.
no doubt it was PI which is amazing considering we were playing at home and still didn’t get the obvious call

I believe this is something that was changed after the Antoine Winfield play in the SB when he like stepped over Tyreek and did it in his face, they called a penalty on it and made it to where if you do it at a defender it's a penalty which is why you've seen Tyreek kind of change how he does it usually pointing it down. But yeah idk it was a weak call regardless

He actually had the DUECES color coded into the glove so that he didn't have to flash the sign just put his hands up.

Exactly well said.

Haha. Ya they have all these rules, it is just called against some teams and not others. Kinda like the KC-Min game, it is supposed to be a automatic 15 for taking your helmet of on the field. KC guy took it off, Reff right next to him pointed to put it back on. Even the Minnesota coach was pointing at his head and asking why it wasn't a penalty? Clear penalty but nope. Don't know if it is favoritism, tv ratings or gambling, but some things is getting boardline WWE style.
This is how the NFL controls games. By having so many rules the important ones are diluted, they control the game with holding penalties (which are not always shown by the networks) and such. I have no issue with it being a penalty BUT if you're going to make that call you have to warn both sidelines (HC's) before the game. A consistent official is a good official.
