Why did we get rid of Wes Welker again?????

WOW. Hindsight is 20/20 people.

Welker was at best, an average slot receiver. His one good year was where he got 670 odd yards on 60 odd receptions. Thats a touch better than Brian Hartline type stats. We were offered a 2nd & a 7th for him. Would you knock back a 2nd & a 7th for Hartline.

If you answer yes, then you really are a fool. The problem was, was that the FO didnt get a lot from the draft for him.

Come on, man. People were SCREAMING when we got rid of Welker. It's not hindsight. A lot of us knew what Welker was capable of. It's called foresight.

If you stick Welker on the outside...he's completely WORTHLESS and out of the league in three years. As a slot man, he's as deadly a weapon as you can have. I could see it. The REAL problem was...QB. Look at how valuable Welker is to the New England offense when you have Tom Brady throwing him the football.

And spare me "well it's the system" excuses. Who cares if it is or isn't? Fact is, New England wins football games in that system because all the pieces fit. The system was designed and they went out and grabbed guys that fit the system and it worked. We don't have any kind of system. We just draw up plays and then throw **** at the wall and see what sticks. So far, we've mostly shot runny diarrhea at the wall and watched it run down to the floor.

Really, I remember reading that Miami FO were being praisewd by media & fans for getting those picks for a slot guy. Cant remember of lot of complaints.

We have our own Wes Welker. Put Bess on that team in the same role = same results. Slot receiver is not the reason we're 0-3.

Agree that slot receiver is not the reason we're 0-3, but Bess is not Welker, not even close. And I like Bess. But Welker has proven he's one of the best WR's in the game, slot or otherwise. A lot of guys on here said that Welker only benefited from Moss on the other side, but he's proven that's not true. We had no choice but to trade him, but his loss was probably the biggest player loss our team has ever suffered.

I always get surprised when fans "get into" the deal. Yea, the Patriots put a "poison pill" in the contract and yes we got a 2nd rounder which I think we wasted.

There is the one overwhelming fact that no one seems to want to admit to.

Wes Welker left BECAUSE OMG, HE REALLY REALLY WANTED TO GO AND BE ON A WINNING TEAM WITH A GREAT QB.

Wes Welker wanted to go, it was one of the happiest days of his life.

No it wasn't. He really wanted to stay and form a bond with Cleo Lemon. But he had to start working with Tom Brady instead and go to the Super Bowl, even though he thought it would be bad for his career.

I dont get it????? Its not a negative post, I am asking a serious question.

Well...My guess is that the most powerful owner in the AFC decided he (Welker) would look good in Silver/Blue and made the play for him. If we can no longer keep our best performers & only get the Cowboys leftovers I see only Hurricane dark clouds on the horizon.

Not wishing bad on anyone with this statement but until Mr. Kraft is out of the picture expect more talent raids & head scratching moves in the future.

\You know the more I think about your post the more I wonder why 3/4 of the fan base including myself didnt write them off right then & there.

If this was already posted sorry...

Wes Welker was a RFA, Franchises have the right to tender a player who is a RFA..Miami tendered him at around 1.5 million dollars.. That = a 2nd round draft pick..

Patriots agreed to an obscene contract with Wes Welker and in the contract in stated that if wes played 8 games in the state of Floirda( I believe it was 8) that the whole contract would become guranteed. There was no way that Miami was going to match that contract...Our front office got into a pissing match with the Patriots front office about it..The owners stepped in and was agreed that Miami would trade Wes for a 2nd rounder. The Pats threw in a 7th rounder for pity sake.... I thought Wes was a good player but at the time I thought if you can get and UDFA and turn him into a 2nd rounder why the hell not? The rest as they say is history. . .

If my memory is correct didn't Cameron and Mueller do that?

That's not entirely true. We would have gotten a 2nd for him anyway because they put a 2nd round tender on him. The 7th they threw in because we traded him instead of making them sign him to the huge deal. Now I could be wrong here, but I seem to remember the Pats getting him a lot cheaper because of the trade.

Welker wanted to leave - that's why he left - do we have to rehash this every freaking 3 months - geez this is old

I still remember hearing Welker say he always admired the Patriots and wanted to be on their team while playing for the Phins. So why Debbie Downer do you care he is gone?

You see it as blatantly trashing the team.

I see it as me making an observation about our team without any bias. I look at what our team is good at, and the areas that we lack against what the opponents do well. There's nothing "Debbie Downer" about it. But because I'm a fan of the Dolphins, you see it as such.

I'm just damn good at seeing this team for what it really is, hence, my 5-11 prediction.
Again, go check the ones who got the gif, it wasn't because they thought Miami would finish 5-11. It was how and what they posted. I didnt post if for even being down on the team, just how they posted it. Acting as if this team was going 0-16. talking about cleaning house after the 1st game, coming back with the Henne sucks balls, Saying we should lose all games and go for Luck, just stupid talk like that!!
Wow, and its amazing how many people really were bothered by a Debbie Downer Gif, makes me laugh. Really pushed some buttons there....huh???
