Im not enjoying this Saben ride.With the talent on this team we should be in 1st place.We got Ronnie Brown and Ricky and we dont use them in the red zone.Saben ill tell you again>We are a running team.Tell that to linehan.This season is all over.I really think if Bates stayed has head coach.We will be in 1st place.

Linehan is the one making the poor coaching decisions. But i loved Jim Bates, i would have been happy had he been named head coach, however when Saban wanted the job i have to say it was too good to be true. Bates schemes were very vanilla and predictable, Saban uses the players in a much more colorful way and i like that. But i do wish Bates would have stayed on as DC, i hate the guy we have now.

I agree with what you say about Bates though, although I am not sure we would be 1st place material. Any way you look at it there isn't much between any of the teams in the East, and if any one team gets the breaks then they will forge ahead. The Bills are better at the moment, but in the long run I think Miami are better set with personnel, and next year would expect them to go on and challenge the division

We're much better off without Bates. Linehan needs to be reigned in, that's all.
I thought Saban already did that by saying how our RB's are the strength of our team, but maybe the relationship Linehan has with Gus is a detriment to our team.
We need to run the ball more, we need to draft or sign better db's next year, until then we've just got to deal with it...

Look what Dungy did to the Indianapolis defense, and Marvin Lewis did the to the Cincinatti defense. Bates will find a way to drastically improve that defense, maybe not a top unit but at least as good as the one he had here. I certainly think the loss of coaching hurt our defense, i dont even know who our defensive coordinator is but whoever it is, is not doing a good job. The players also respected and loved Bates, factor that into the equation that The Nicktator and his new guys are running things now.

Bates was a rookie headcoach....playing with no O-line...NO RUNNING GAME...and he still won coaching against the Pats.
Give me a break! This team is competitive each and every week. Sometimes it comes to play calling, sometimes it comes to recievers catching well thrown balls, and sometimes it comes to Gus throwing the ball well. In each of these circumstanses if we would have performed better in earliear part of games we wouldn't be scrambling at the end. My point is this we've had one extremely succesful draft and off season. This does not make a champion. It is only a stepping stone. Saban is taking this franchise in the right direction. The Dynasty did not fall in a day and it will not be rebuilt in a day. As for Bates, he was the one shining star amongst a cast of *** clowns under Wanny, but he had the most talented shutdown corners in the league. In this day and age of salary cap and free agency keeping Pat wasn't an option. Could Bates get Travis Daniels to cover any better, I think not!
