Runs out of bounds? Hello?

Great play, went our way... dont want to be negative, but come on Channing!

Well, it did help run some time off the clock. I am OK with what he did. Now, if he had tried to score by running into Bills' players, then I would be questioning it.

I don't mind him running. Every defensive player wants to score when given an opportunity. We were up two scores and when he realized there was nowhere to go, he went out of bounds.

I got no problem with it. He took time off the clock and he ran out of bounds to make sure nobody could get him.

Yeah, but by running out of bounds he stopped the clock. Wouldnt it have kept running had he downed himself on the field?

a turnover stops the clock anyway bro. it wouldn't have mattered.

Yeah I was wondering why he went out of bounds too. The TV commentators even said he was smart to go out of bounds but they didn't explain why. Cannonboy makes a good point to support that.

Nope, due to the change of possesion the clock would have stopped.

The clock stops on a change of possession (that includes turnovers) so no, the it would have not kept running had Crowder downed himself on the field.

Maybe it's just me, but it looks like you're drawing at straws here, looking for something to pin against Crowder.

I don't think he's trying to pin anything on anyone. The clock stopping after a turnover is a pretty esoteric rule - I don't think many people are aware of it. It's as simple as that.

Actually the change of posession stops the clock so Crowder actually took more time off the clock by running to the sidelines then if he'd simply fallen to the ground. Now there's a risk he could have the ball striped, but the first reaction is to get upfiled. When you run those drills you practice getting the ball going the other way. No big deal really.
