I know that we signed Mcdougle but other than that we didnt find any players that can improve this line. Houck will help us but how much improvement can he do with a unit that flat out sucked last year? We knew coming into this season that we had weaknesses on the offensive line. Why didnt we address them! Seth Mckinney has not done a thing his whole career. What makes it possible for him to be good now from the terrible performances i have seen. A coach can only do so much. We are relying on the coaching to much. I think that this team needs to invest more on the line because our unit will not be able to do anything without a good center. Seth Mckinney is definately not the answer.

we don't over pay for players. Saban has made that crystal clear.
the O-lineman that everyone wanted us to go after were far to expensive.

The OL guys we have are talented, even Mckinney. That was my feeling last year and it would seem that all-world OL guru Houck agrees.

I don't know. I think Houck may have over estimated at least a few of the players here and his ability to coach them up. In fact, the staff has gone on record saying that the OL just isn't getting it.

I think overall we have players to coach up, but I think they missed in not drafting at least a center who could start.

06 draft is stacked with OL, I think we will get two OL starters in that draft.

The staff has also gone on record saying they had no idea how poorly coached this group was by the immortal Tony Wise.

Give Hud some time to spin his magic. I think right now we have 3 starters (D-Mac, Hadnot and Carey) who are legit. I think Jeno James could get there. I think our issue is center of course.

Saban had a great draft. It was also a weak draft for O-lineman. This year, like you said, is loaded along the O-line.

Saban will get a few. Let's see what this year brings first...for all we know, Hud will coach the hell out this group and it may not be a need.

Remember, we also need a defensive tackle, depth at corner (Sam is aging and Nick loves coaching DB's), a young reciever (Boston is on a 1 year deal), maybe a tight end (if McMike walks), another young linebacker would'nt hurt and of course a Q.B...going nuts on using all our premium picks on the O-line may not be practical...Nick is all about BPA....and so am I.

I find it very likely the first pick for the Dolphins next year will be a LT. Center may have to wait or be a need that gets addressed in free agency. It might also be Hadnot's job if a guard steps up.

I think we should do everything in our power to get Phillip Rivers in Miami to become the next savior, and then get some OL to protect him for the next five years, then get a stud DT,and then get CB's and S in the later rounds unless you have an absolute Pro bowler early in your grasp that you absolutely must have. Everything else we will get in Free agency. That is when we will be ready to roll! Rivers is the key In my mind.

A lot of what we suffered through last year was a result of poor coaching and leadership. Coach HH is one of the best O line coaches in the business. i can't wait to see haw this squad is performing by the end of the season.

The defensive line was a higher priority and correctly so. Outside of JT it was an absolute disaster even though many Dolphin fans didn't recognize it as such. Just look at the turnover. There was absolutely zilch in the middle, unless you count an aging journeyman pass rush specialist like Zgonina. At DE besides JT you had a decent but undersized player in David Bowens and virtually nothing else. We had to fortify the DL first. To me the glaring missed opportunity was Washington LT Khalif Barnes with the 2nd rounder for Surtain. We picked Roth instead, a case of motor over talent and I think it was a mistake. Barbes has considerable athletic ability, feet, aggressiveness and upside. Probably not a starter ahead of McIntosh this year, but a big piece of the puzzle for '06 and beyond.

Hopefully "the Brick"

I see him going #2, and I don't think Miami will be within sniffing distance of that pick. He's going to make some team very happy, though.

Okay, I agree, now, what do you think Saban Should've done to fix this problem? Who was availible this year that we should've picked up? Was there a better line coach that you think we should've hired other than Hudson? It's one thing to complain about something, but it is another to have a solution...
