From my point of view, he was a solid special teams player for us last year and surely merits an invitation to training camp. Other questions to think about:

If one or more of our safeties goes down, do you think we will consider re-signing Lance Shulters?

If we were going to get an OLB in Keith Newman, why didnt we just get a more proven one who is a former Pro Bowler in Peter Boulware?

I seriously though Schulters would have been signed somewhere by now, he played very well for us last year. Also, is there just no chance of getting him back? Was there a burned bridge I can't remember about?

I think that's a good point, if for no other reason than Eddie Moore still being on the roster.

yea im also very surprised that he has not been signed yet, i know he was looked at by the seahawks but a deal was never done...i think both sides, the dolphins and shulters, agreed to go their seperate ways while he was talking to other teams so im guessing its very doubtful he comes back to us

Maybe we will sign Glenn later, as far as Schulters, man I really liked him as our safety, I hope we get him back later as well.
I just wished we signed him to a 2-year deal last year.

I am glad we decided to draft a safety rather than re-sign Shulters, because he was asking for too much money for a safety in his 30's who has undoubtely lost a step. I just think maybe if we get thin at safety due to injury he can be used for depth, which was the original plan for him when we signed him last summer.

Lance's play the last month of the season didn't merit his asking price.

The biggest difference Boulware and Newman is that Newman is healthy and Boulware has been plagued by injuries the past couple of years.

I had mentioned in one of my past posts that we should resign Glenn because he was a good backup and special teamer. Newman was said to be the Vikings best LB in 2005 by some fans and I feel that our LB's have good depth this year compared to last year. :dolphins:

Not sure on Glenn other than no one else has signed him either so he may be nothing more in the coaching staff's mind than a special teamer. At this point they are looking for guys who would be solid back-ups AND special teamers not just one.

We have 16 DB's on the roster, none of them over 28. Schulters' birthday is 5/27/75 making him 31. He was slower than optimal before anyway and he won't be getting any faster.

Boulware likely couldn't pass a physical with his legs. Eddie Moore is still here because he still has a contract though if he is still injured during camp expect him to get an injury settlement/waiver and not go on IR.

1.Jason glen was no longer needed when we signed Keith newman
2.Lance wants to much money
3.Newman is worth the money we will spend/Boulware ain't...........:shakeno:

I forgot about jason, he was an excellent STer for us and a decent backup LB. I hated to see him go, hopefully he catches on w/ a non-AFC East team.
