It seems like every day you get training camp reports from various users.. One will say, "Feeley was terrible out there, inaccurate and really struggling..", while the other will say "Feeley clearly outplayed Frerotte today, he was accurate all day and had some nice deep balls."

This happens every year, one reason why I really dont take much stock in them.. Almost every player gets a conflicting view from different users.. Maybe you guys posting TC reports should get together and tell each other which area you will focus on, so you can devote all your time analyzing/watching that position, so that when everyone compiles their specified report it would be more accurate?

cause some people know what they are actually watching and others are just fans who have bias and just report things on what they want to believe.

You have to compare reports with what is said in the newspapers and see's who is legit and who's are just bs.

Ozzy is usually right on with his reports.

this is true. And i did post a report today..thoe i am not an analyst just an average joe fan w/ my point of view

It's the very same reason that during games that we ALL watch, people come on here and have totally different views on the players.

I think the main reason is, different people are at different levels of knowledge when it comes to the game.

If you think about it, when a receiver makes a stupid mistake, and the QB throws the ball to where the receiver is SUPPOSED to be, and gets intercepted, those who aren't very knowledgeable just think the QB sucks.

It's the ultimate team sport, and I almost think there is no real way to judge any single persons performance because it is based so much on everyone else's play.

Ozzy is pretty good, pretty detailed, but I really have no way of knowing how accurate or not.. but I trust his judgement..

Its just odd to get so many conflicting reports..

Let's see, we can all watch the same regular season game and come up with hundreds of different opinions, right?

Training camp is no different....I appreciate all the reports we get.

Compare someones reports of a practice with what is said in the newspaper. If it pretty much the same then that person has a clue.

If the newspaper says something opposite of a "fans" report then usually the fan is wrong.

I used to read reports of Fiedler saying he sucked was terrible, he looked horrible. Then the next day in the newspaper it said of that same practice he was outstanding...etc. SOME People let their bias get in way when reporting.

Thing is, how can we even trust the paper? You think someone like LeBatard really has that much more football knowledge than a fan? Not that he is doing camp reports, but Im not even so sure the reporters covering camps even have much deep knowledge of the game..

If you like a player you will probably notice the good plays he made.

If you dont like a player you will probably notice the bad plays he made.I dont think its done on purpose.

We all have our favorites and our prejudices will be reflected in the reports somewhat although not to a point where the reports are distorted.

I am talking about the fans like you and me who go out to training camp not professional reporters.

YES! If newspaper people are wrong they get fired! NO reporter will risk their job just to rip a player

If a "fan report" is wrong people just move on.

Another time they get the players wrong. See a play they don't like they just assume it is the other guy. It is hard to make an accurate report unless you have at least 5 cameras and review them a few times.

wow 5 cameras in diffrent angles... i thibn were going overboard...listen man Fans go to camp, watch the games and give thier input or point of view. Not an Outside the Lines Nightly report. relax.

Im not saying a reporter will intentionally mislead, just that they dont know exactly what they are talking about.. Im sure they have some concept, but I wouldnt take everything they write as gospel.. And what type of backup insurance does the newspaper editor have to ensure the reporter is 100% right on his camp reports?

The only reason their different is because different fans like and dislike different players and have different views of the field and might not have a clear view of a play or not.
