I will never understand people in this board. Im begining to think most of the so called dol-fans love for us to lose? Why is it so hard to support our whole team? Especially our young guys? Every year some one is doubted without given the proper chance. Ronnie was doubted look what he has shown to be capable of. Where are all those ronnie doubters now???? Give Beck his 3 years if he sucks after that then crucify him. Yeah hes 27-28 years old but hes still young in football terms. If you become a teacher at age 28 you still are a new teacher. Just cause your 28 doesnt mean you know more than the 22 year old teacher that just graduated college. Is it really that hard to support the damn team!!!:( I for one want to see as many of the young guys play. I want them to make mistakes because mistakes means learning from them. Give them their time to adjust and in due time we will be able to tell if they are busts or contributors. JUST GIVE THEM THEIR DUE TIME!!!!

More like, why do people take it so personally when other people offer reasons why they still believe Beck could be a good quarterback.

the people who hate beck are the people who wanted Brady Quinn, so its second nature for them to criticize him.

To be fair (and I don't think anyone here would call me a "basher", so I am not defending myself), why do people take it so personally when some of our fellow fin fans don't like what they see and would prefer to move on? It is just an opinion. Every now and then, I see a player that just gives me a bad vibe because of sloppy play or something like that and I would prefer to move on, and every now and then I see a player I would like to see given more of a shot, even if there isn't necessarily an objective reason for it (I wanted Bernie Parmelee to be our starting RB the first preseason I saw him).

There have been rude people on both "sides" of this.

Everyone has an opinion so we can only be right in our own eyes.

Dude, did anyone watch the preseason game? I know its the first game but he has NO confidence in his throws or desicisons. When i watched Chad, he didnt care if he made a bad pass or got knocked down, he got back up & did his job. John looks like a scared little girl out on the field. He wont amount to much if he stays.

Because some ppl are more player fans than team fans.

He had no chance in Miami once Parcells took over and drafted Henne to begin with, but at least he will have a shot to learn on another team.

There always are. But generally I've not seen as many rude people on the side I'm talking about, as is evidenced by the fact that people who defend Beck are not at all in any way prone to bashing or hating on Chad Henne, and both sides seem to share equally negative opinions on Josh McCown.

I have been a very big Beck Supporter from the begining, and to some small degree still am. I dont hold last year against him, but it definately screwed up his head.

He worked his tailoff this whole offseason and has had had every opportunity to win the starting job from day 1 of Training Camp. I would even go so far to say that The Trifecta gave him a much better shot then they ever gave Mccown.

And yet he couldnt even beat out Mccown who in my oppinion is NFL Grade 3rd string garbage.

Hope for Beck is starting to crumble understandably. I can completely comprehend why some people doubt him. What I dont understand is why they want him out of here. Maybe he needs 1 full year under the Trifecta to really come out of his shell.

I dont want to see him cut or traded, if he is not the answer this year then let him sit and give him some more time.

Chubbs

The problem with giving Beck "his due time" is that he is 28 years old. Three years will make hime 31. In football years, thats quite old. A 28 year old teacher is different than a professional athlete; he is not required to avoid a 260lb linebacker that runs a 4.5 40 when teaching math. I feel bad for Beck, I do think that with some grooming he could have been serviceable, but I dont think he'll get that chance due to age.

The problem with Beck criticism is that most of it is vague and ephemeral, as is evidenced here. I don't think it is any coincidence that people who defend Beck tend to be detail-oriented and people who tend to bash him and use terms like "scared little girl" tend to be entirely perception-based.
