I know he's had injuries but why do some of you guys want us to trade him. When he is healthy, he makes us a dangerous offense and especially now with Henne coming into his 2nd year as a starter. He is the reason we were in ballgames with the Colts and Saints and beat the Jets the first time.

I am not on that boat. Give him this year to play a full season w/o injuries and then we go from there.

i want brown to stay.. best player on our team by far and injuries are part of this game it can hapen to anyone

I agree! Ronnie is still an Elite Back when healthy. I remember earlier this year someone from ESPN! said he was one of the best backs in the league. Trading him and drafting Spiller like alot of people seem to want to do is just stupid. It wastes a pick that could be spent on a position of NEED.

Hes either a rfa or ufa.....either way hes not getting traded. If the league and union agree on terms the team is going to have a tough decision to make. Historically, RBs tend to have a short life span in the NFL, and Brown is reaching that age. Just look around the league at all the 30+ yr old starting RBs.....and the 30+ year old RBs with large contracts riding the bench. That along with Ronnie's punishing upright running style does not help matters.

Because we can't count on him to carry the load, and he will probably demand elite back money. Let me hit you with some stats.

1- Out of 90 possible games in his career Ronnie has missed 30. Ronnie has missed 1/3 of his career.

2- Ronnie Brown in his games played has exactly 1079 touches. That equates to less than 18 touches per game. Ronnie Brown cannot even handle 20 touches a game without breaking down.

Why exactly would we pay a guy top money if he can't even handle 18 touches a game? If we can get a good value for him, it's worth it. RB is the easiest position to replace.

Brown is not elite nor is he our best player.

Brown is expendable. Very much so. Solid and good player, but nothing more.

What do you think his trade value will be if he spends 1/3 of the season on IR, which is his exact ammount of injury time per year on average? He will also be 29 years old.

All you have to do is look at Porter. What trade value would he have had last year? What value does he have now?

Buy low, sell high, don't let emotion get in the way.

Trading Ronnie is a no brainer if you can find a buyer....or you can hold onto a 29 yr old injury prone back for 1 more yr and then he can walk as an UFA....Id rather get something in return than watch him play 7 or 8 more games then hit the IR.

ronnie is the wildcat
ronnie is a beast 240 pounds running down hill
ronnie is our man

I'm a Ronnie Brown fan, but if the pick or picks in return were too good to pass up then I would be willing to part with him.

Find me one stat about Ronnie that is even above average....bet ya cant do it....

Except maybe the above average amount of time he spends in the training room.

Actually, he averages 4.9 yards a touch. That's pretty good. The problem is he isn't capable of generating even 90 yards per game combined. I think an elite back could give us more than that.
