From what I see, we employ 2 SS in Jones and McDonald. We will be paying them around 16 million next year and neither one of these guys are cover/centerfield guys. What was the front office thinking when signing McDonald?

To answer your question: who knows. They both got exposed in coverage this season. Both are more effective the closer they are to the LOS. I think either one could make a move to WLB.
Gun to my head, McDonald will end up being the SS in the next few years after the team gets sick of a 30+ Jones asking for new contracts.
