My entire family are dolphins fans. They reside in either Jamaica or South Florida. I feel a connection more with the Miami Dolphins then I do with any other NFL team.
 
my mom liked watching marino so i started watching the phins and really started to like them.
 
From California. But as a young kid watching football, I just simply loved the way Danny boy played and was always rooting for the Phins because of him. I was hooked.

man that is exactly why i love the dolphins too! most of my family is from Jamaica and now some are living in miami.. When i was younger I had no choice when it came to watching the games!
 
Dan Marino. I liked him when he played for Pitt...yea I'm a WVU fan, but I saw him play us every year and knew he was the best. I followed his career to the Dolphins, had the privelage of living down there in his prime and going to almost all of his home games.

If the Miami Dolphins didn't draft him my favorite team probably would have been whatever team that did.

well, actually, as a young kid, I was turned on by their colors scheme and logo. I thought it was really cool and different from the rest of the teams; it stood out.

I didn't know any of the players at like 6 years old, but I remember thinking Dan Marino was the greatest player I've ever seen. I still think that, and he is for sure. So yeah, that's basically it.
 
I wanted to be Larry Csonka really bad when I was like 5 or 6. I also loved the logo.

Growing up in Ohio my dad was a huge Browns fan and he would buy me Browns stuff but I never really wanted it. My mom knew I loved the Dolphins and she would buy me Dolphins stuff. That was 37 years ago and I never looked back.

I've been a dolphin fan practically my whole life and will be till I die.
 
i'm kinda a first generation phin fan, born and raised in south fla, my mom is from pitt and my dad is from ny, mom is a steeler fan at heart, but to have something common with her son she roots for the fins too, and my dad never really picked up with the giants or that other team. he's kinda a luke warm dolphin fan.
 
Have been hooked since watching the longest nfl game between the fins and Kansas city chiefs. The 72' 73' teams. Course the dolphins are the home team here anyway. Never got into the Bucs or Jaguars. Just isn't the same.
 
I married a mermaid so.... it just seemed like the team for me.
 
Oh, forgot to say that the reason i like the dolphins is i grew up in coral springs and my mom grew up in miami.

On a side note, i should have added 2 more choices for the poll
1. Like the logo.
2. Like player(s) or coach(s).
 
When I was a kid I had several reasons:
1) Loved there color combination
2) My favorite animal/mammal was the dolphin
3) Thought the Orange Bowl was cool with the Palm Trees.
4) Loved Griese, Csonka and the No Name Defense
5) Thought Shula was the greatest
6) Grew up in Upstate New York and the Jets/Bills/Giants never turned me on.
