Why do you people continue to support Ricky?

Ok I have a small problem with this arguement. Ricky was playing ball the way he was supposed to. I don't think there was a clause as to how many carries he was supposed to have. And which case that was his job to run with the ball.

Ricky was actually a two time loser because the team that drafted him had problems with him> Which is why they let him go so easily . Why should he get a third shot with us after already screwing it with his second chance.

Personally we drafted RB for a reason. And that was because Ricky isn't going to be the guy here.

And as for Wanny running Ricky all the time. What else did he have that was going to give him a chance to win games. Even though other teams knew what was coming. Fiedler was never going to win games throwing the football. If anything having Fiedler behind center was a big reason we are where we are today. That and having a clueless coach.
Let him go easily? are you nuts!?! they got two numbers ones for him and they already had a replacement "home run" replacement. They didn't give him away.

You people who want Ricky back are ridiculous. This guy went against the family, and if you know anything about the Godfather, that is something you don't do.

What a bunch of hypocrites. Were you the same people who said, when Ricky quit, "it's ok, he just needs some time off,"?

Please.

First off, not all of us said we wanted RW back. Second, you have to use some common sense here...I dislike what RW did to his teammates and the organization last year...It think, as an athlete, and having been involved in organized sports, that was the absolute worst thing he could have done. All that said....

RW is a commodity if all the IFs are resolved (if he is accepted back by his teammates, if he wants to come back, if he can regain the muscle mass he supposedly has lost, if the league lets him back, if he conforms to the drug testing program of the league, if he works out a financial settlement with the Fins for the $8.3 mill and the right contract, if, if, if....I still have doubts all those will be worked out).

The problem is that he is only a commodity for the Fins right now...(too bad he doesn't play CB)...He has no trade value with other teams. So the only thing positive that can happen is for him to resolve the IFs and play like he has in the past. Can we count on that...absolutely no way...

Unfortunately, this scenario looks like a lose-lose situation for the Fins...if he returns and plays well again, well we have already replaced him and he'll take carries away from Brown where we lose the potential versatility that RW lacks, compared to Brown. Now, if he plays ok this year, and we try to trade him next off season...do you think he'll still demand anything close in compensation from where he was prior to quitting ?? No way...Some other team will get a bargain (again assuming the IFs are resolved and he plays well again) and we get stuck with little compensation...

If he doesn't play well...well at least we have replaced him and have an offensive scheme that doesn't rely totally on his skills to be successful, but we still lose out on the benefits of the guy we had before he quit...

So, the ONLY logical thing is to let him back and hope he does well for us. That does not mean that I like the idea of him coming back or will ever be able to "forgive and forget" what he did as a fan. So, I reluctantly say to RW...com'n back, Pal.....

Remember that run he broke against the Jets to snap the streak?
Remember that 60+ yard TD against the Bears?
Remember the time he led the league in rushing despite an average O-line?
Remember the 16 TD season, followed by a "disappointing" 11 TD season?

Why do I want him back? Are you ****ing serious? He's a force on the field and he'd make any team instantly better. I'm not saying I hate Ronnie Brown, I'm not saying he didn't quit on the team, I'm not saying I support drug use, and I'm definitely not saying what he did wasn't a ***** move. I'm saying the guy is an amazing runner and it's downright stupid to turn down someone with that kind of ability.

ricky coming back will only compliment ronnie brown. There are two many options with them both in the backfield together. They will be known as the dynamic duo.

Sure Ricky was paid to run the ball, but 40 times a game, every game for two straight years. Did the guy quit when he was gaining 3 yards per for a full season? No. The reason he quit was because he could see that Wannestedt did absolutely nothing to improve the offense. I would have been tired of that too. I was pissed that he quit when he quit, not that he quit. And as for all you people out there talking mafia and war and all that bunk, WAKE UP - this is football not war and definitely not life and death. Sure I would accept that man back, he's a hell of running back that made a poor decision in the fans eyes. To him, maybe, it wasnt a bad decision at all.

i know one thing, if that son of a ***** quit on me, and i was in that locker room, id kill him before i let him back into our circle. how many of you guys that want ricky back have actually played some kind of organized football. you need people you can truast out there, you fight for your teammates, you sweat and you bleed with them, all im saying if i was on a team and for whatever reason someone turned there back on us, well **** them and **** him. we dont need his garbage

Ive always wanted Ricky back. I like his personality and the way he lives life. I also think he has some problems in how he handles things. He doesnt handle them the responsible way. I think he deserves a 2nd chance, and he has proven to be one of the best backs in the NFL.

Ricky has had plenty of chances. Coming to the Phins was supposed to be his second chance. So were his 1st and 2nd entries into the substance abuse program.

The way I see it, Ricky is working on his 4th "second chance"

This is the point that so many choose to forget or ignore.

RICKY CHOSE HIS WORKLOAD!

Ricky had the option to come out anytime he wanted. If he was tired, hurt, or just didnt want to run the ball at that particular moment, all he had to do was run to the sidelines...no questions asked. He also specifically ASKED to be left in on 3rd downs. The plan was to put Minor in on 3rd and longs, but Ricky requested that he be left in.

So, Ricky (and his apologists) is complaining about the very workload that he himself asked for.

Edit: Besides...the Ricky issue may be a moot point anyway. It looks like we are going to need to pick up a cornerback now. Depending on who we go after, there may not be enough cap room for a quality corner AND Ricky's 3mill salary.

Agreed, but my whole point is the IFs that are involved...just because he comes back doesn't mean he wants to and will play at the level he played at before...

settle down psycho... i mean clayton. yeah, if he quit my team i'd be pissed, but if after he quit we went 4-12 and his coming back would get us back to at least .500, i would be thankful for his presence on the field.
he did something dumb, now he needs to be man enough to make it right.
just pray for no cap in 2007
