Everyday I come on here and I read posts about how ESPN sucks, how they dont care about the Fins, etc..

Well of course they dont really cover the Fins. The are a national sports news network. They cover all sports in general. Their audience is the average sports fan who just wants to get a general idea up what is going on in the sports world.

They are going to emphasize only the best teams. The teams that are in the mix for the playoffs. The cover significant events that happen in sports franchises (coaching changes, TO, etc). All things the general fan would be interested in.

I dont really care for them. But it seems like many people think that the Dolphins wont be significant until they are acknowledged by the all knowing sports Gods of ESPN.

If you want to learn about the Fins- this is the best place to find out about them.

I agree. They have X amount of time to talk about each team and on sportscenter, every sport. They need to compress it to just the bare minimum for time's sake.

For those who want in depth coverage, try the NFL network. If you don't have it, consider suicide.

" The worst teams in 2005 will be the Dolphins and the Bears"
-Sean Salisbury...

When we do get coverage its like that. Or its berman doing sound clips on the Bills. Or its someone trying to stir up the ricky thing. Or its some one else using sabans words out of context. Or its the the talk that chambers doesnt deserve the pro-bowl...

ESPN's job is to report what people in this country want to hear. occasionally they go overboard on the cheesiness with the horrific kobe/shaq nonsense (omgggggg they didn't shake hands at midcourt~~~~~~), but they do cover every team, with the BIGGER STORY getting more highlights, talk, etc

Some folks on this site, feel its necessary to have validation and vindication from so-called experts. If National coverage isnt positive, or lacks coverage they moan. If polls and power rankings dont have Miami high enough they moan.

They need some one else to tell them what they think is true, or if they disagree with them, they want to slap the national or local media for not bleeding aqua and orange.

Others here could care less what someone else thinks, especially Media folks, and only care about the performance on the field from this team, and how its improviing, and the direction the coaching staff and front office is taking this team, etc.

It is what it is and nothing will change it, and perhaps neither is wrong. Its all about what you want to spend your energy on and focus on.

AND its that whole TO mess!!!!!!

ESPN created the whole damn thing and then just started pouring gas onto it... And then they are shocked...SHOCKED!! when TO does something stupid. They are as much to blame in that whole mess as Rosenhous and TO. Cause TO and Resenhous without the media is about as effective as a paper clip in a staple factory...

So you guys are saying that someone should come up with a 24 hour Miami Dolphins TV network. Where everything that is said is good and praises the Dolphins and never dares to say anything negative. Come on get real.

they don't even talk about the eagles anymore. shows just how unbiased they really are. they spent 19 hours a day dedicated to philly and TO a few months ago, and now......NOTHING

F- ESPN. I don't need their blessing! The hallowed halls of Bristol University can kiss my @ss!

I read over at a Spurs message board that ESPN ran a "Top 10 Moments of 2005", all in which had to deal with major events.

The Patriots were listed
The White Sox were listed
Danica Patrick was listed
Tiger Woods was listed
even the NHL coming back was listed

But the Spurs fans were complaining b/c the Spurs title wasn't listed. So the Spurs fan on the site claimed bias against ESPN.

My point, it isn't just Dolfans who think ESPN is biased.
(They also claimed if Shaq/Heat won the title, you wouldnt hear the end of it. Same with Kobe/Lakers).

It's weird to be associated with the 2 teams apparently ESPN doesnt like to respect. Oh well

I rarely watch sportscenter anymore. Sometimes I look for a highlight, but usually I'll just look at the ticker for a specific score. Mostly it's b/c I don't find that they know anymore about football than I do. So, I ignore their analysis. I'll listen to guys like Clayton or Len P. b/c they are fairly accurate with the rumors I wouldn't have access to, but I don't look for them. I usually hear about what they said here or on the radio. I like NFL Matchup b/c their opinions are based on film study. I may not always agree with everything but their opinions are reasoned. But the talking heads on NFL Live and Sportscenter seem to be more about entertainment than about relaying any insightful, accurate information.

I disagree with that though. Although the spurs dont get the same time as shaq and the heat...they are considered the best team in the league by almost every "expert". I know nothing about the spurs except that to which i hear from espn. I know that Duncan is a mad man on the court and that Parker has been doing nicely. They might not talk about them often, but when they do i hear nothing but praises about how good they are. The dolphins got the shaft in both ends. We are barely ever talked about and when we are, its nothing but how awful we are or how stupid saban was for his comments or how lucky CC was for getting into the PB. I have RARELY heard something good from an "expert" about the phins recently. But I cant blame them either. The "dynasty" is in our division so of course they assum they will win the conference. Time to move on to a division with more controversy. Obviously they were wrong this year but now they attribute the closeness of the phins winning to patriot injuries etc. Although i hate that we dont get coverage, it makes a lot of sense to me. I did expect us to be talked about a little more than we did about the bills game and the chargers game but hey things arent perfect. the chargers "looked over us" and the bills "screwed up" so its hard to get a little love when people think of it like that. When we beat out the pats next year to win the division I cant wait to see the "experts" faces as the pats are knocked out of contention.

Who cares what ESPN does or doesn't do? Why the bunched up underwear? ESPN, like our own daily television news and newspapers, will cover whatever is "hot" at the moment. Whatever gets the ratings and sales is what is important. Boo hoo!
